What killed arcades?

I did not explain my thoughts correctly… fixed below.

It is in my belief that highspeed internet completely killed arcades. Even when Xbox and PS2 were around we still would always find time to spend at the arcades. Once highspeed internet was widely available it slowly took everyone out of the arcades.
