> A tree is a long-term decision, though, so I’ll tell you of a drawback to grapefruit. I love the stuff, but I recently figured out I can never eat another grapefruit. I take a cholesterol-reducing drug, and eating grapefruit would render the drug useless for more than a day and a half. Maybe you don’t take such a drug now, but years later your doctor might make your grapefruit tree into a bitter reminder of something you can’t eat. :smack:

So, is it just for a day and a half? I take those statin drugs, but I do indulge in grapefruit once in a while. I’ve heard folks say just one grapefruit renders that medicine useless permanently, but I doubt that, and anyway I like to laugh at death.

So, am I laughing at death?

The perfect citrus tree. I will take mine with four grafts: tangelo, grapefruit, lemon, and lime!

No they don’t. I peel and eat mine like an oversized orange

The problem with grafting there is not always a great compatibility. You may be able to graft certain stuff together and the graft does poorly instead of an outright fail.
