# What kind of spider is this?

I saw the neatest spider yesterday spinning a web in my pecan tree yesterday - saw him again today but I think the wind got him because this afternoon he was gone, and so was his web.

Sorry about the pictures, he was really hard to photograph! He was little, and spun a “typical web” web with three anchors and a spiral in the middle, and his body was black on the bottom and white on the top with those weird spikes. He looked more like a sea creature than a land creature! Surely one of the arachnophiles here knows what he is - I’ve never seen anything like him!
