[Fugly website](http://www.cotswolds88hotel.com/) (needs Flash for full fugliness, I assume). **Warning - contains music**. WTF were the web designers thinking? It makes me feel ill. The way that elephant whizzzes in from the right is what really gets me. ---

The pictures at the bottom make it look offbeat and funky; I’d stay there. But the stuff at the top (spinning fan, racing elephant, etc.) is just too busy. Hope they have free aspirin in every room if they expect me to browse their website while I’m there. ---

Jesus H. Is it meant to imply new-agey spa treatment, or is it meant to apply that “we’re totally mad us, eh?!” Looks like a B3TA spoof. Here’s the site of the designer: [http://www.fatpromotions.co.uk/](http://www.fatpromotions.co.uk/) which doesn’t seem _too_ bad. Could this be a case of “bloody clients”? Then again, not only is the site comletely mental and the music supremely irritating, it’s not even competently put together! What’s with the second background area when you scroll down. Bleaugh. ---

To me, it sends a double message: relax, be hip, enjoy our serenity, man, but the music is frenetic and the constant movement too stimulating–I feel like they’d serve me double concentrated caffeine (or Dexedrine) and then try to soothe me. The Cotswolds are supposed to be gorgeous–I’m not sure if I would want to travel through a beautiful natural setting with all this New Age noise stuff to come back to each night. :dubious: ---

[/QUOTE] The squares on the right have mystery navigation hidden in them. Still, waaay too wordy. Some of the stuff in their portfolio indicates they can make a reasonable site, so I’m guessing 1) wackadoo clients and b) they left up the placeholder that was on the html page before the Flash was installed. Big oops. Mouse over the butterflies and the trees for a treat. The hotel certainly looks like an interesting place, but the site makes me literally nauseated (and I’ve got the sound turned off). ---
