What law enforcement agency/agencies have the authority to block DOGE from entering/extract DOGE from Federal buildings?

Well, I’ve been in situations where I managed federal offices and local police were involved. If an emergency occurs - say an active shooter (nothing I experienced), I and my managers would call 911. And, of course, the cops would be allowed in.

One observation - in the offices I’ve worked at, armed security was present during hours that the office was open to the public. Staff were permitted to work both earlier and later. So there were incidents occurring when no FPS presence was on site. Depending on the situation, I called either FPS, or both local law enforcement and FPS.

On other occasions - say the local cops wanted to arrest an employee in our office, they would ask permission to enter, and I would clear it with regional (my direct supervisors) before I let them in. I had situations where I allowed cops in and when I didn’t. It never got beyond “No, you cannot enter.” When they were excluded, they were given contact info to request entrance.

As others have said though, the problem is almost certainly that these people are authorised to do what they are doing because Trump has authorised them. Or at least, he has nominally authorised them, and it will take months or years of court battles to figure out if his authorisation is valid.

And in that circumstance law enforcement are going to follow whatever authority seems valid. It’s not their job to make judicial decisions between competing views about the law. It’s not an issue about which law enforcement agency has authority to block DOGE - it’s not an issue for any law enforcement agency. It’s an issue for courts.

And if the courts rule that the executive branch needs to knock off whatever they are doing? There is no tiebreaker in the current system.

The staff from the Africa Development Fund denied access to DOGE staffers. Ward Brehm, the agency’s chair, told its staff to deny DOGE staff entrance and to not hold meetings with them unless and until Peter Marocco is appointed to the Fund’s board and confirmed by the Senate. The result was that the DOGE staff quietly went home without getting in.
