There is, of course, also the whole business of “Men Went to Catraeth”, which is, of course, still quite recent, being only about 600 C.E. 😃 ---

The 1692 Massacre of Glencoe still ruffles some feathers between Campbells and MacDonalds. ETA: Or so my Granddad told me. I don’t know how seriously it’s taken these days, but he remembers a few bar brawls back in the day. ---

You know, given my own Scottish ancestry, I am absolutely not at all surprised to hear people in Scotland were still (until fairly recently) getting into pub brawls over the outcome of an event in the 17th century.
