# What lost film would you most like to see recovered?

I would like to see Charlie Chaplin’s “Limelight” with the complete restored footage of his scene with Buster Keaton. What I did see from that scene didn’t impress me.

From what I’ve been reading, the rumors of Keaton’s great bits being cut from \*Limelight \*[have been greatly exaggerated](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Limelight_(1952_film)#Production). For the most part, all the good stuff is there.

If you haven’t seen it already, there’s a fabulous documentary about this, aptly titled [Jodorowsky’s Dune](https://youtu.be/jg4OCeSTL08). Everyone involved sounds insane. I’d love to get a copy of the storyboard book that was made for it.

Also, the soundtrack for the documentary is fantastic.

[The story of the Kelly Gang](https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Story_of_the_Kelly_Gang) - the world’s first full length feature film, from 1906.

About 17 mins exist of the 1 hour+ movie. Ned Kelly, the Australian bushranger who held his last stand against police while he and gang were in home-made iron armour, was within many peoples’ living memory when the movie was made.

This is off-topic now but… Orson Welles’ _The other side of the Wind_ was finished by others and is available on Netflix. Also a making of documentary.
