And given our enoooooooooormous age difference, Old One, no, you don’t. The bug fix for the bug that wasn’t a bug four months ago hasn’t worked. I can’t even really test it properly because the real system and the test system are too different. This sucks donkey balls. I work in Switzerland, live in France, my customers are currently all in Germany and although I work for the Swiss branch of my agency, my agent is a Pakistani who works in the UK office. Oh, and I go to the doctor in Spain. ---

I am quite excited right now, I proposed a project a work for the first time yesterday and it was accepted! It’s a fairly small thing, essentially a two day statistical study of some of our commercial products, but still it was my idea. ---

Well, another drive-by because I have _got_ to try to get a little work done. I’ve spent about ten minutes working thus far today. First I spent a bunch of time calling the various offices of the ortho group to see if I could get their phones to work _somewhere_ so I could get Papa Tigs a follow-up appointment. Their phones were totally hosed, however, so I finally gave up and drove 15 minutes over to their closest office and sat there for 45 minutes while the nice appointment lady tried to get him an appointment. With a requirement of “any office, any doctor,” you’d think she might have had some luck, but the only appointment she found open had already been snagged by the doctor’s secretary, and then even _she_ couldn’t get through to their other offices on their stupid broken phones. Which were supposed to have been fixed by that time, but of course they weren’t. And then I had to stop by the horsepital on the way home to pick up his x-rays from last night, only they wouldn’t give them to me, so I had to bring him home and form to sign so I can go pick them up. And of course each trip there involves 15 minutes circling my way up the parking garage to find a spot, and then five minutes waiting for the parking garage elevator. And then I had to come home and fix Papa Tigs’ lunch, and now I’m sitting here telling myself to work. Which probably will be interrupted shortly since I have to (a) take his car in for an oil change since he’s home, and (b) go to a hair appointment that I already had to reschedule once today so I could go sit at the doctor’s office. Oh, but you asked about Papa Tigs? He’s still drugged out of his gourd. He’s spent most of the day thus far snoring on the recliner sofa with a pup lying within petting/snuggling range. The dogs _love_ it when he’s available to snuggle like that. He’s still hurting, too, although his worst pain has probably decreased from a 8/9 to a 6/7 on the little 1-10 pain scale. Which, I guess, is progress. But he’s off work till Monday for sure. At least his boss understands – this is a man who spends his life attached to a pain pump to try to keep his back pain under control. I can’t believe they let him stay on active duty that way, but he’s hung in there thus far. Everyone works their meeting/request schedules around the colonel’s meds schedule, though – they wait till the days when he gets a refill on his drugs and is all happy again to go ask for stuff. 😃 Okay, back to the salt mines. I’ll try to catch up later. ---

I am clearly missing the boat on some sort of middle-aged British man love. However, **Ali** , I have no objection to you inviting in Alan Rickman and David Thewlis, so long as I will also be inviting Brian Molko and Natalie Portman. 😃 Well, now that **Ali** has spilled the beans about The Move to you all, there really isn’t much else for me to add on that. But thank you very much for the encouragement, everyone, it’s good to hear some mature adults taking a relaxed stance on this whole thing. My parents were gradually eased into the idea, but the rest of my dad’s family – particularly my cousin, who I am very close to, but directly told me “don’t have sex until you’re married” once – may not take the news nearly as kindly. ☹ There’s also, of course, the fear that **Ali** ’s parents won’t accept/like me nearly as much as they do now, after they’re let in on “the secret”.
