Since pee-can and oak tree sex are the two things that bother me most, I don’t really notice the boogers. If’n it gets too bad I take Benadryl [sup]TM[/sup] and go to sleep. I’m a medicine wuss so that works fine for me. Baked chikin boobs, green beans, mac & cheese (cause I wanted some) and rolls for dindin. YUM! Sorta easy to boot! **BBBobbio** any chance you could get VWife to go on a ride along and see what goes on? Don’t know if it’ll help but she’d see what it’s about. I’m not plantin’ anything this year. I just have no desire. Later Y’all! ---

Serious reply, but it may not sound like it at first. The first night of orientation, you have to demonstrate to can single-handedly remove a stretcher from a unit and put it back; even the drivers have to do the task. With her bum shoulder, she won’t be able to do it. I’ve tried to get her to do ride-alongs when I was in the Cottonfield County squad, and she’d talk a good game but never go through with it. Oh well, enough of that stuff. The mother of the bunny I took photos of last weekend was in the yahd when I came home from a bread and BACON!!! run to the store (BLTs were on the menu at Chez Vunder tonight). Freya went along for the ride, and the driveway conversation with my dog was, “Leave the rabbit alone…” She kept looking at me with her sad, brown Boxer eyes, “But Dad, I wanna go see the funny looking kitty…” ---

I had to think long and hard, and I can honestly say that I really don’t have a specific weekday that I look forward to. That’s kind of sad. I was alone in my branch today, and while I really enjoyed the quiet, I didn’t really like all the extra work that went along with it. I’ll be alone tomorrow too. I am tired. I’m going to heat leftovers for dinner tonight and then my husband wants to watch _The King’s Speech._ We were going to watch it last night, but we kept waiting for the “announcement” and they kept pushing back the time. By the time it was all over, it was too late to watch the movie. Oddly enough, while we were waiting for the President and before CNN announced it, my husband said, “I’ll be Osama bin Laden is dead”. Turns out he was spot on. I’m sorry your wife doesn’t want to let you volunteer again, Bobbio. Like **FCM,** I’d be proud if my husband did. ---

Blurf. Training class today. Yee-haw. I had my annual performance review yesterday. I wasn’t up there with the “Sh!t don’t stink” crowd, but I was rated as a good, solid employee. Not bad, considering I’ve had this particular gig 3 months, and the project is extremely complex and high-pressured. ---

I like Fridays because of ‘date nights’ with my son…and Friday mornings I (shamelessly) catch _Grey’s Anatomy_ on the interwebs. (No cable tv in mi casa.) I’ve become such a social recluse (anxiety - don’t ask) that I don’t have a favorite time of the week…just days where I don’t have to leave the house. ☹ Sometimes date night ends up being order-in night, but I do try to ‘go somewhere’. He needs it. _sigh_ Seems like only yesterday that I was a social butterfly. Yesterday morning, this little girl in kindergarten ran up to the security guard (yeah, most Jewish orgs have those…weird, it sounds) and was like, “Osama is dead! Osama is dead!” all celebratory-like and the security guard (Israeli) was like, “Well, yes, but do we really want to celebrate?” and she’s like :😕: “uh…yeah?” I told my son about it before he went to school because I didn’t know if kids would talk about it or not. Some of the 6 year olds are surprisingly in-tune to news – his friends were all abuzz about earthquakes and tsunamis last month! I explained that before he was born, some people were responsible for 9-11 (which I had to explain in like 5 sentences) and the U.S. government found their leader and killed him. His response? “That’s sad.” He wasn’t sad that ObL was _dead_. He was sad the world works that way. i luff my little kiddo Anyway, I had The Big Talk with the CEO of his school and outlined some of my concerns with his snotty teachers and some of the lower school staff. He apologized on behalf of the school and I felt better, because I’m not the only parent complaining about some of the lower school (elementary) teachers. (If a child has a problem, it’s automatically ‘bad parenting’ or ‘stupid child’ instead of ‘reevaluating how we teach’. These teachers leave at 4pm M-Th, 3pm Fridays, and are horribly spoiled relative to what ‘public’ or ‘other’ teachers do.) There’s a group of us in the ‘newer generation’ of kids with learning disorders, reading difficulties, or anything outside of the spectrum of ‘super stellar awesome robot!’ whatever. We’re basically asking that teachers step it up in terms of some of their teaching methods concerning reading and their attitudes about kids with sensory issues or learning disorders. There was a school staff member who actually suggested to a parent that she be more strict with her first grade twins (who have sensory issues & speech/reading issues) instead of the teacher just adopting to a child’s behavioral/discipline needs. Example: Student acts out in class. Consequence: Student misses out on recess. Larger consequence: Student is so wound up bc of unexpelled energy that he’s a crying terror mess by 2pm. They also have these ‘behavior charts’ in K and 1st where kids who ‘act out’ get ‘marks’. 😕 Soooo…it seems that a lot of parents of younger kiddos are wtf-ing some of the ancient teachers because we get blamed when a kid is not fitting ‘their model’. My personal example: His teachers worry about his reading. Ok. Well, their (newer) sight word method doesn’t work imho. It’s not like they’ve been doing the same thing since the 70s and haven’t had issues. They told me to _make sure I read with him at home_ and that will be the key to his success. WTF! This is a literacy-rich household. He’s one of the few kiddos who does his homework! (HW in K is voluntary.) He does ‘extra’ homework at home and likes it. Um…? This year he is in KB (which is mostly “normal” kids or kids who couldn’t read yet) and the KA is like “accelerated” with the same material. (pee ess: the other KB kids aren’t reading so well, either, Ms. “this new method of teaching is amazing! and i’m the professional! so suck it!”) They also worry about his ‘inability to make decisions on his own’. Well, he’s an only child (who started 1 month into the school yr) and doesn’t do things without knowing he has permission. He’s also less aggressive ‘for a boy’. They had the audacity to suggest that I _get tough_ on him. :o I told them that I’d rather have my son go to a teacher when he’s bullied or hit (which he does) than be the one who bullies. Of course, the child who was picking on my son gets a small redirect or a time-out while my son is criticized for not being able to ‘handle it on his own.’ sorry for the long post, but seriously, sometimes I wish Judah would’ve punched the kid. Sometimes I want to punch his teachers. instead, i helped him with some ‘brush you off because you’re an idiot’ tactics and it seemed to work. Judah is starting to look like the smart one and the bully is looking like a weenie. 😃 I replied to his teachers’ assertions re: his reading and homework with a letter explaining (as diplomatically as possible) that studies show the brain works this way/most kids respond this way/and my son needs xyz to grasp what you’re doing. I’m providing xyz at home now. //end rant. **Taters** , I want to see _The King’ Speech_! ---

I missed the MMP yesterday! I was so tired (only 3 hours sleep!), I guess I didn’t have the energy. Plus I had to do a presentation for this Thursday. Tomorrow I’m attending the Offshore Technology Conference - it’s a pretty big deal for our industry. **CP** - I hate people who act like that! I hope you get some resolution. Um - forgot everything else. Oh! the OP! I like Friday nights because I go to happy hour and usually don’t have to cook (or do dishes!) Wednesday and Sunday nights are fun too, because my shows are on. ---
