I just want to point out that which movies you watched the most times doesn’t necessarily correlate well with how good you think the movies were, especially for pre-VCR folks like me, for whom the frequency of viewing depends upon how frequently the movie was shown. So while I’d love to have seen The Day the Earth Stood Still more often, or the silent Lost world, you really didn’t get as many hasnces. There are plenty of classic movies that I’ve only seen once, yet, because the damned things were on so often, my “most often watched” list, especially as a kid, includes low-budget SF stuff like

**The Crawling Eye
The Creeping Unknown
The Four Skulls of Jonathan Drake
Giant from the Unknown
The Man from Planet X
Voodoo Island** (starring Boris Karloff! Probably not his first choice)
**The Curse of the Faceless Man
From Hell it Came
The Killer Shrews
The Monster that Challenged the World
The Cape Canaveral Monsters
The Manster**\*

in addition, it seems as if Million Dollar Movie on WWOR was constantly showing _Godzilla_ or _King Kong_ or _The Giant Behemoth_, sometimes literally right after they had just shown it.

\*I have absolutely no doubt that Bruce Robinson saw this film, possibly while drunk or stoned, and said “I Have to Redo this as a satire!”, and made _How to Get Ahead in Advertising_. Penn and Teller absolutely skewered this film when it was shown on TNT’s "MonsterVision)

Back in the early 80’s I won a newspaper contest picking Oscar winners. The prize was a card that got me into any movie theater in town, and I could bring a friend.

I saw _Chariots of Fire_ at least four or five times. And I saw _The Sword and the Sorceror_ at least five times. Three times for _Mother Lode_, with Charlton Heston.

**Groundhog Day**

I don’t think anyone ever called that a “great” movie, but it does have any easy watchibleness that worked over and over again.

There are other movies that I didn’t mind watching every year or so, but GHD was the only one I’ve had on continous play, and just watched and played along with.

When I was growing up, my parents had custody of my niece. She used to watch _The Little Mermaid_ repeatedly. That probably holds the record for the movie I seen the most times I didn’t even like. I sure a lot of parents have movies like this that their kids watched that that they can’t stand. Maybe we should start another thread about movies you seen the most you don’t even like.😃

> Wow, I screwed that up. _A Simple Plan_ is an OK movie, but I meant _Blood Simple_ for the list.

“A Simple Plan” is a great movie. Just too painful to watch more than once.
