I never walk out of movies…but I really wanted to leave The Hot Chick. I would never have believed such a horrible movie could be released in theaters had I not seen it with my own two eyes. I would have walked out, but damnit, I was going to get my moneys worth.

_Ocean’s Eleven_, the remake.

I made it as far as Brad Pitt giving poker lessons. When one of his students lays down a mixed hand of hearts and diamonds and says, “All red!”, I went and got my money back and walked home. Ecch.

I can’t remember the name of the movie, but it featured Kevin Spacey or possibly Kevin Bacon. This was the only thing we knew about it going in. Well, that and the fact that it played in the campus theater, two short blocks from my apartment I went with two friends, one of who paid for half my ticket. Tickets were $2, he gave the ticket seller a 5, I gave her a 1, all three of us were paid for.

Brief description of what I remember of movie.
This group of boys growing up in New York City some time ago killed a man by pushing his hot dog cart down a flight of stairs, I think. They were then sent away to the place where Kevin whoever worked. Life at the reformatory or whatever it was called was nasty and the Kevin guy unzipped his pants at one memorable moment, at which time one of my companions left.
I believe that the movie was based on a “true” book published a few years before.
The guy who paid was very vocal in his dislike of the film before leaving. I didn’t move fast enough to leave with him, but within about fifteen minutes I apologized quietly to my roommate and attempted to leave without embarrassing her further.

I’ve only ever walked out of a theater once; and that was when watching **For Ever Mozart** by Jean-Luc Godard.

A terrible mess of a film, which, unfortunately (as I heard he’s done some great work in the past) put me off watching another Godard-movie, ever.

_The Fast and the Furious_ – a local theatre has a 2-fer admission. I don’t remember what I was actually there to see, but I had the choice between watching _The Fast and the Furious_ and wandering around aimlessly on Denman street for a coupla hours, in the rain. I got about twenty minutes into it before I decided that I’d rather be cold and wet.

Going back some, Jean Luc Godard’s [_Je vous salue, Marie_](http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0089366/), which was I was only 17 and didn’t have the patience for it, although I enjoyed it on video years later. I regret to say that I walked out of it and saw Robert Altman’s [_O.C. and Stiggs_](http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0089715/) instead, which made the National Lampoon stories it was based on look like Rabelais by comparison. The shame of it all.

[_Unfaithfully Yours_](http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0088326/). Totally unwatchable. Even with Nastasja Kinski.

: previews :

What the…? **Realtronic** , jeez, we’re gonna put people off of Godard if we’re not careful here.

That would be [Sleepers](http://us.imdb.com/title/tt0117665/combined), with Kevin Bacon. I actually enjoyed it, but I went into it knowing what it was about.

I haven’t walked out of any movies, mainly because I almost never go to the theater unless it’s something I really want to watch. Even then, I’ve been sorely disappointed a few times (_Blair Witch Project_ and _Matrix: Revolutions_ in particular).

Ive never walked out of a movie, but if I were to go back again I think I would have walked out of American Beauty… I hated that movie. Still do…

I liked Sleepers too… but like Sublight, I knew its story before seeing it.

I walked on [Serial Mom](http://imdb.com/title/tt0111127/) with Kathleen Turner and Sam Waterston.

There’ve been a few other movies where I’d like the 2 hours of my life back.

And lately I’ve fallen asleep in a few. I’ve pretty much stopped going to movies on Friday nights; it never bodes well for staying awake.

A few…and there were some I WISHED I had walked out on afterward.
The ones I did leave early for:
Mixed Nuts with Steve Martin. I waited as long as I could for it to get funny, and then when it became obvious that it would NOT get funny, we left.

Hear No Evil with Marlee Maitlin and DB Sweeney. I wish I had been Hellen Keller so I wouldn’t have seen or heard this movie.

McHale’s Navy. About ten minutes in I realized this would most likely be one of the worst comedies ever made, so we cut our losses.

Ones I WISH TO GOD I had left early from:

Full Fathom Five with Michael Moriarty. Hunt for Red October rip-off.

Deepstar Six with Greg Evigan. Abyss rip-off.

Crime Zone with David Carradine. “Futuristic” action flick. The way you knew it was futuristic: in the bars, they played pool using cue sticks with neon lights in them.

My girlfriend in college walked out on _The Silence of the Lambs_ because it freaked her out too much. Just as “Buffalo Bill” reaches out to touch Clarisse’s hair in the pitch blackness of the basement. I followed her out because I didn’t know why she was so upset, and didn’t get to see the rest of the movie for over a year.

The only movie that I have willingly walked out of was _The Big Chill_. God, that was dull. It was a free showing and I still felt like demanding my money back.

I was a big fan of the StarWars trilogy and like many waited patiently for years with anticipaton for the **Star Wars Episode I** to come to theatres.
I went with a buddy of mine to a matinee about a week after it’s release. About 30 minutes into it (when Jar Jar makes his entrance) my friend walked out into the lobby. I followed him out and remember saying “what the hell is that crap, is this some kind of sick joke?” Only after agreeing how awful it was so far did we agree to go back in and sit it out.

One and only one.

**Cabin Fever**.

Ugh. Marketed as a horror film, but it wasn’t! Just soft-core gross-out. Hated it.
