# What movie scared you the most?

My parents offered me the chance to go see _Jaws_ with them. I’d have been 7 or 8. I don’t know how I knew to say it, but I said, “I don’t think that would be a good movie for me to see.”

_The Birds_ I first saw it when I was about 6, and it wasn’t until my husband bought me a parakeet when I was 39, that I stopped being afraid of birds.  
I’ve seen scarier movies, that freaked me out for a few days, but that one did the most damage.

I was 12 watching the Mouth of Madness. Well, I left the room a lot. Freaked me out. Nothing made any sense. It was a jumble of confusing, incomprehensible mages sewn together, which was part of why I was frightened. The plot doesn’t hold water in retrospect, with the nonextistent town and all, but it was freakish at the time.
