It’s a shame they were never able to buy the broadcast rights to **Queen of Outer Space** , which starred Zsa Zsa Gabor as the only girl on Venus with a Hungarian accent. That just _begged_ for MST3King! I reviewed Demi Moore’s **Scarlet Letter** for _Movieline_ when it first came out, but they never ran it—maybe because I opened with the line, “Who thought it possible for Bruce Willis to marry beneath himself?” ---

I was merely taking a dig at a show that quit being funny when Mike Nelson became the star. Nelson’s snide smugness was a drastic departure from Joel Hodgson’s amiable, laid-back goofiness. Anyway, since Nelson fancies himself an expert on all aspects of culture, and loves tearing into lame movies with no redeeming value, I thought he should look at his OWN pathetic attempt at making a movie. ---

Most anti-Mike post. Ever. FTR, he was the head writer for all but the first season. I never got the impression he fancied himself an expert on culture, but that’s just me, I guess. ---

The joke style stayed pretty much the same when Joel left and Mike became host, it’s just the presentation that changed. As **Mr. Blue Sky** pointed out, Mike was head writer, and the rest of the writing team stayed the same. While I slightly prefer Mike over Joel, they both have their good and bad moments. ---

Francis Ford Coppola’s Kenneth Branagh’s Mary Shelley’s FRANKENSTEIN. Somebody decided that “dragging capes is really good drama”, a head transplant for Helena Bonham Carter is a good plot addition, and 40-something Tom Hulce can easily play a college student.
