_The Big Lebowski_, for sure. I’d get some bowling in and hang out with some remarkably weird characters. And most any Marx Brothers film, especially _Duck Soup_. Being on Firefly’s cabinet or something like that. ---

_Star Wars_, preferably Episode II or III. Then I’d look up Obi-Wan Kenobi, and change the ratings to at least NC17. ---

**Local Hero** takes place in a small town on the coast of Scotland that I’d love to jump into. Meanwhile, I’ll settle for watching the movie from time to time. In the guilty pleasure division, **Titanic** in its first half evokes that time and place so well that seeing it on the big screen is like being there. I never usually do this, but for some inexplicable reason I felt compelled to go three times (still waiting for a deluxe dvd). Reminds me of a great t-shirt I saw on the street around the time **Titanic** was out which said “It Sank. Get Over It.” ---

For a few years (seven? ;)) I wouldn’t mind whooping it up with the Deltas in _Animal House_. After that, it’s moving into _Shakespeare in Love_ for a good dose of Tom Stoppard dialogue and Joseph Fiennes. The lovely 2003 French WWII comedy _Bon Voyage_ would be a lot of fun, too. ---

I wouldn’t mind dropping into Rick’s in _Casablanca_. I can even sing _la marseillaise_ and I can sing loud. (Not necessarily well; but loud.) I would also like to be Eleanor Powell in _Broadway Melody of 1940,_ showing Fred Astaire how to do the steps! ---

my answer isn’t original, but it is heartfelt: I’d jump into The Lord of the Rings movies. live in Hobbiton for a while, visit Rivendell, Minas Tirith, etc. etc. ---

Any **Jacqueline Bisset** movie from the 70s or 80s. Or, better still, all of them. (Anyone who knows me would have been able to predict my answer with 100% accuracy). Alternatively, any movie, any movie at all, where I’d be able to fly like a superhero flies. (Should be interestingly surreal if, in the future, someone happens to have a reason to do a ‘search’ on ‘superhero flies’). Good thread. Can someone _please_ hurry up and invent this technology? How hard can it be? With my cellphone if I’m in Las Vegas I can walk down the street and call a friend in Sydney. If we can do this, what’s so hard about developing the ‘Jump-into-the-movie-o-tron’. ---

Wow, some great ideas. I’d definitely want to drop by Rick’s Cafe Americain in \*Casablanca \* to soak up some of the local atmosphere. Maybe drop by a French Resistance meeting late some night like Sam, too. Being one of the Supers (before they were banned) in \*The Incredibles \* would be 'way cool. Mr. Incredible and Frozone might need some help fighting evildoers… but no capes! Serving with Kirk, Spock, McCoy and the gallant crew of the USS Enterprise (but definitely not while wearing a red shirt) in the original \*Star Trek \* would also be great. I second (or third, or fourth) the suggestion of _The Lord of the Rings_. I’d want to be a top advisor to King Elessar at the beginning of the Fourth Age, living in Minas Tirith, reestablishing the Kingdom of Gondor and Arnor, smiting the Corsairs of Umbar, etc. Mmmmm. Umbar. ---
