What movies have transvestites?

Haven’t seen Ma Vie en Rose, though I think that’s arguably transexual (about a child).

Ma Vie en rose is totally about transsexuality, and has nothing to do with cross dressing. Again, Ludovic in that movie was female-identified.

Is everyone clear about the difference between a male-identified crossdresser and a female-identified transsexual? It looks like some people confuse the two.

The new movie TransAmerica is about a transsexual, just so there’s no mistake.

There used to be a very complete list of transexual & transvestite movies on someone’s website, but I think it’s disappeared now.

A transvestite makes a brief appearance in Crocodile Dundee. CD is hanging in a bar, and initially believes the transvestite is a woman.

Even Cowgirls Get the Blues had John Hurt as the Countess. I haven’t read the novel by Tom Robbins, so I don’t know precisely what he had in mind about this character’s gender identity. Back in the '60s, probably very few people had any idea what transgender identity meant, so I would be surprised to see it reflected in writing from that time.
