I’ve got a very bad feeling about “Cars” from Pixar. Every Pixar movie to date has been great. Pixar can do no wrong. Except everything I’ve seen about this…the trailers, the promos…lead me to believe this will be Pixar’s first flop. I don’t know, maybe it will be good. But a movie about talking cars? OK, yeah, “Finding Nemo” is a movie about talking fish, and it’s a masterwork. But I’ve got a very bad feeling about this movie. Not that it’s gonna be terrible or unwatchable, but that it’s gonna be mediocre and unfunny, “A Shark’s Tale” level movie. Not bad, just not worthy of the time and effort put into it.

Obviously, the other movies mentioned here are obviously gonna obviously suck hard, but their suckitude will be so obvious that anyone with even the slightest level of suckdar can avoid them. But everyone knows that “Pixar” is synonymous with good movies, and I have the horrible feeling “Cars” is going to be the movie that destroys their streak of quality.

At least it’s not “Cars…on a PLANE!”

I’ll have to disagree with that. The promos I’ve seen for Cars are hilarious. Looks pretty comic.

God, all of these sound horrible.

Except Snakes on a Plane, of course. There are motherfucking snakes on the motherfucking plane, what else do you need to know? Also, Samuel L. Jackson is in it. This movie is going to _rule_.

> I agree with your post though. Bloodrayne had the potential to be a great movie. Unfortunately, Uwe Boll looks at these things and says “Hmm, it’s a workable premise. How can I change it to make it worse, and also alienate the fans of the source material?” Then he goes from there.

Did ya see the [article on “Something Awful”](http://www.somethingawful.com/articles.php?a=2649) about Uwe’s…“work” with the original _Alone in the Dark_ scriptwriter? Yikes.

I almost look _forward_ to seeing how he’ll screw up the “Postal” movie, just to see how the impossible is done.

Maybe it’s really an version of _Flatland_ redone as a spy-thriller.

You know, as much fun as it is to slam crappy sequels and uninspired committee made vehicles for stars, there are still about 10 movies on that list that I’ll pay money to see. Considering my location, there will be an offering of European releases as well, which means that there’ll be about two movies a month this year that I’ll see in theatres. All in all, not too bad.
And certainly no worse than any other year.

And apparently, it’s [showing](http://movies.monstersandcritics.com/news/article_1070546.php/Stallone_knocked_out_on_Rocky_set).

They should have showed that instead of the Taylor/Hopkins fight. It would have been more entertaining.

> Perhaps it won’t be out in 2006, but I saw in Sunday’s Parade magazine that Wilmer Valderrama has signed up to do a movie version of CHiPs. I suppose it was too much to hope that _Dukes of Hazzard_ taught Hollywood anything.

It did. That no matter how bad the movie, there is profit in grave robbing/corpse raping.

At least Valderrama already has the haircut. …he is playing Ponch isn’t he?

Hollywood seems to have the “suck” dial turned up to eleven these days. The sequel mania doesn’t show any sign of stopping and there are move moves “based” on video games. I have nothing against gore but it can’t be the entire point of the movie. My stepson wants to see _Hostel_, which from the trailers seems to be just about torture. Is there any conflict between good and evil to build a plot around? Apparently good people trying to escape evil torturers is the confict. \<mega-sigh\>

If it’s any consolation Europeans aren’t that much more sophisticated sometimes. When I was working near Frankfurt two summers ago the movie marquee for “Garfield, Der Film,” gave me pause.

[Snakes on a Plane…on a camera!](http://www.cinemablend.com/new.php?id=1574)
After previously dismissing this movie, I will now be pre-purchasing my tickets. The birdmonster is a fickle monster. I hope, at some point in the trailer, that deep-voiced-announcer man calls it “This summer’s Anaconda…2”

Ok. I’ll stop now.

I went to go see Munich tonight and quite liked it, but the previews I saw for movies coming this year…

…well, they’ve been mentioned in here.

**Apocalypto** I was originally worried might be a whitewashing of Cortez’s conquest of South America, but it would appear to be purely native. Even so, ever since hearing about Mel Gibson’s slow slide into freaking derangedness, I’m a little shy about his movies. No matter how good they are.

And one movie I will never watch, not if I’m paid, not if I get amazing sex before, during, and after, not even if Nathan Fillion flies down and asks me out on a date JUST to go see this movie\*, I will not watch **Flight 93**. Not because I think I’ll cry. Not because I hate the war. It’s because it makes me want to vomit thinking about how much money people are going to make off the suffering and death of innocent people. I thought of it the day the towers fell – “You know, someday they’re going to make a big huge movie of this, and people will flood the theaters to relive this AGONY again.”

Then I thought “No way. We’re not THAT soulless.”

Reminds me of the SNL sketch, “Tales of the Cobra.”

PILOT: Ladies and gentlemen, there are now **eleven** cobras in the passenger cabin . . . And three in the cockpit. One has just bitten me, and as the venom courses through my veins I can see an Indian beckoning me to follow him over a sand dune . . .
