Not a movie but… a third season of Twin Peaks.

In one of the last episodes there was a character left tied up in a cabin with a bag of tarantulas dangling over his head. They didn’t get around to resolving his predicament in the last episode, and then the series ended, so I always wondered what happened to the poor guy.

Didn’t Twin Peaks end with a life-or-death cliffhanger for almost every likeable character?

The actors in the dreadful movie version of “Lost in Space” signed on for 3 films of which only 1 (and that’s 1 too many!) were made.

Yeah, it did. I probably should have addressed that in my post.

All of these cliffhangers happened in the last episode though, the guy threatened with a bag full of tarantulas (IIRC he was someone’s villainous ex-boyfriend) was left hanging a few episodes before the end, so I was always especially curious about his fate.

I wish they did continue the series. But I also don;t even know why they started it. There is almost no way to do the entire series of books as 3 movies. Love the books (and the movie), but I think theybite off more than they can chew.

I really wish they did more Captain Kronos movies. I loved the one they did make.

And Push was ok.

Eragon had two sequels. They were called \*The Empire Strikes Back \*and _Return of the Jedi_. Don’t even get me started on the prequels…

No, there are three of us who remember that movie. You, myself, and my brother. We used to quote that movie to each other. “Don’t you have a plane to catch…back to Mars?”

I looked it up, and the promised sequel was “Tourista.” The thing that made the teaser strange was how definite it was. It wasn’t a little hint, like in so many movies.

Reading this thread, promising a sequel with a specific title seems like a jinx.

He has a history of doing that. I encountered a book about all the stuff he originally said, and how it changes over time. The first few chapters are available online. It’s called, _[The Secret History of Star Wars](http://secrethistoryofstarwars.com/)_

That would be [Leo Johnson](http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Leo_Johnson_(Twin_Peaks)). He was the town’s resident sleaze-bag drug dealer & wife-beater; he was married to hapless heroine Shelly.

As the wikipedia article states, he was left tied up in the last ep, with the tarantulas held aloft above him by a string that he held clenched in his teeth. If the show had been picked up for a third season, the police would’ve raided Windom Earle’s (Leo’s captor) hideout, he would’ve called out for help, and thus the tarantulas would’ve fallen on him. No word if he would’ve lived or died. (And Twin Peaks was not above killing very important, popular characters.)

It would be OK if George would just say, “Yeah, that was my intention. But I changed my mind.” Instead, he tries to do the Mind Trick on us and acts like it never happened. THAT is what is just so freaking insulting.

Is this one old enough to not spoilerbox? Ah well, better safe than sorry I guess. At the end of **Freddy vs. Jason** :Jason climbs out of the lake, still alive, with Freddy’s severed head in his hand. There is a closeup of Freddy’s head, which opens its eyes and winks at the audience. Pretty clearly a “this isn’t over” gesture.

I disagree with **Tim R. Mortiss** about Ming’s ring at the end of **Flash Gordon** ; the on-screen text, which displays “The End”, then shortly thereafter adds a “?”, is a pretty clear statement that they intended to continue the story.

Not in the movie itself, but when I worked in a movie theater, we’d sometimes get these pamphlets with lists of upcoming films. One listed was **Spaceballs 3: In Search Of 2** , which would have rocked.

_Masters of the Universe_ with Dolph Lungren as He-Man and Frank Langella as Skeletor. After the credits Skeletor pop out of some water (apparently at the bottom of that hole he fell in) and says something like “I’ll be back!” As a kid I was disappointed. In retrospect, however…

There was supposed to be a third of The Ring (the American version) I can’t say I’m disappointed that they did not follow up, as the second one was not as nearly as good as the first.

> _Unbreakable_ was intended as the first movie in a trilogy. At the very least, M. Night wanted to do a second one, but a poor box office gross and too many people expecting a traditional superhero movie put the kibosh on that.

It earned $248 million on a $75 million budget – and movies that _ **aren’t** _ as good a return on investment (HELLBOY, BLADE, MASK OF ZORRO, FANTASTIC FOUR, even BATMAN BEGINS) get sequels that turn profits all the time. (Heck, THOR and CAPTAIN AMERICA have both already gotten the green light for sequels, and neither film seems likely to gross triple its budget in theaters.)
