So, what do you plan to name your children, or what have you named them alread? Anyway, here is my list. \*\*Angel Lennon \*\* (Yes, after the Beatle) (boy or girl) **McCartney Lynne** (Yes, after the Beatle) (boy or girl) **Jakob Toiyabe** (After my SO) or **Haley Anne** (after me) **Ashely James** (Just always liked the name) **John Luc** (After SO’s father) if it’s a girl \*\* Eliza Beth \*\* (after my grandmother) **Gabriel Alexander** (No reason, just like the names) a girl would be **Gabrielle Alexis** **William Perry** (After my father) or if it’s a girl **Josephine Marie** (after SO’s grandmother) ---

Today at dinner, I said (jokingly) that I would have a ton of kids when I grow up and name them all verbs. Rob Carrie Neil Stan Rose Doug Drew Bill Jimmy Stu Bette (pronounced like Bette Midler, not Bette Davis) Don Mark Sue Jack Bob Will Taylor Holden Ralph Chuck Chase Chip Nick Sharon Paige Erin/Aaron Pat Skip Liv …That’s all I can remember. I guess that’s about 30 kids? Wish me luck. 🙂 ---

In a moment of irritation I told my children I should have named them Pain and Heartache. So now, when I tell one to stop being a pain the answer I receive is always “I’m Heartache, not Pain, Mom.” I use to tease my husband when I was pregnant. Chlamydia and Curio? Ambulette and Beauregard? Ebola and Ecoli? He used to really get mad at me. ---

The only set one I have is **Stephanie Frances** after a close friend and my grandmother, who died on the same day, though from different causes. There are other names that I like, but they vary. This one is a definate, if I ever have a daughter(or kids in general that is). ---

My boyfriend and I were just playing around with this recently. Now I have a chance to put it to good use. 😃 Just like the name + His mother + My sister = **Cloud Elizabeth Catherine** Just like the name + Just like the name = **Naomi Jessica** Character in book I used to like + His father = **Damon Andrew** A mutual close friend’s name (with the first and middle name swapping places) = **Erek David** ---

We’re planning on having a kid in a couple of years, and we’ve already picked out a boy’s name - **Ethan**. It works both in English and in Hebrew (as **Eitan** ), which is important for my bilingual lifestyle, and it has a good meaning: it means “strong”, “mighty”, “steadfast”. Of course, we’ll have to call at least one of our kids **Raphael** or **Raphaella** , or my father-in-law Rafi will be pissed. ---

Zachariah E (no period, E is his middle name but his uncle calls him JustE.) is 16. Zebadiah Leeis 14. Zabrina Mae is 13. ---

Now see, the thing I could never get about this process was I felt I could not name my kid without getting a look at him. Granted, I know all newborn babies look like skinned squirrels, but I felt like we had to clap eyes on him and see if he seemed like the name we picked. So I refused to let my husband get too hooked on the name we chose, and I didn’t call Cranky Jr. by the name before he was born. But this was probably pointless. We had agreed on a name but I told Mr. Cranky “You know, I love the name but I’ve never known anyone with that name who had blonde hair. It just doesn’t fit my mental picture. So if he’s born with blonde hair, I’m not sure we can go with that name. Be prepared; we might have to go back to the drawing board.” When Cranky Jr. was born, he had very dark hair. Big sigh of relief! He was named! But wouldn’t you know it–when the newborn hair fell out, it all came in blonde. So now I have my blonde baby with the name I could never picture on a blonde kid. Heh. But I’m glad we went with it. Jus’ Lookin’, I love all those names. My last name begins with Z and we seriously considered giving Cranky Jr. a “Z” first name in honor of that. When we picked something else, we decided to go with a Z name for the middle name. My husband was pushing very hard for just “Z,” the initial, no period. That’s what my dad goes by (as a nickname), so there’s even a family history. But in the end, I worried it was too different and I chickened out and roped my husband into giving Cranky Jr a full middle name. It’s cool to find someone who did it! ---

I’ve been obesessed with names all my life. For the longest time I thought I was going to name my future progeny **Merriwether Erin**. They will certainly be glad I got over that one! Right now I like the name **Ella** , jazz fiend that I am. But there will be no offspring for a long time. ---

Grr. I have had a few names tentatively picked out since i was in Junior High school, but I find some of the glee is gone since I discovered it’s a common practice among us girly types. There’s even an episode of _Sex And The City_ in which the most sticky-sweet-annoying character gets mad because somebody stole the secret name she had picked out for her future daughter. However, since it’s too much fun NOT to talk about it when the bf brings it up (eek!), I like to name silly ones for a big reaction. ``` - **Arvydas** (girl) - **Antonio Hopkins** (boy) - **David Duchovny** (either) This one caused the spontaneous playing of the song by Bree Sharp called *David Duchovny Why Won't You Love Me*.
