# What new look?

I’ve seen a few posts here referring to the “new look” of the SDMB, and the new smilies, and so on. I’m confused…the SDMB looks exactly the same to me as it did a few days ago. OK, not exactly the same…some people are missing their “Member” titles. I know I’m a bit groggy from ten straight days of work, but…is everyone seeing something I’m not?
I’m using Mozilla Firefox, if that makes a difference.

I’ve seen this posted by someone else: clear your cache!
Now I’ve absolutely no idea what this means but I pass it on to you gratis.

Go to another web page, then go into your Internet Options and delete the temporary internet files, then come back.

OK, that worked…hmmm…it’s still not very different, except for the smilies. Now I’m kind of wishing I hadn’t asked…not really liking the new smilies.

I don’t even know how to do this… (I’m using IE)
Also, what do the little green dots that do/don’t appear behind certain user names mean? That’s the only real “change” of any significance I’ve noticed thus far.

The green/blue dots correspond to the white/blue checkmarks that used to appear. If the dot is green, the poster is currently visiting the boards.

Click Tools\>Internet Options\>General tab\>Delete Files\>Ok.
I see **Fat Bald Guy** has answered the other part of your question, but if you hover your mouse over any of the icons on the board, it will say what they are for. That’s how I found out what that flower-icon-thingy was that is displayed along with the Yahoo/MSN icons that some members use.

So, if I’ve understood this : the smileys were changed, then changed back, is that right?
Can anyone post a picture of the temporary smilies? I’m curious to see them.
Or was the talk of new smilies just a joke?
Oh, and how do I clear the cache in Mozilla firebird, anyone?

Go to Tools --\> Options --\> Privacy. Click on the button that says “Clear” by the word “Cache”.
