Actually, from the Honorverse, I don’t think HH would be a good choice - that little anger management issue. However, Queen Berry would do well. Alas, none of my choices are as good as Atticus Finch. ---

No way Hal would have left Anya at the altar, for instance; he’d have dealt with whatever issues they were having long before. ---

Put me down as another vote against Hilda Mae Burroughs. She’s the only moneygrubber I know of who could out-grub L.L. Whatever she could do with the ring, you can bet she would make a profit off of it. What about [Miles Vorkosigan](http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/0743436164/qid=1149956895/sr=1-9/ref=sr_1_9/104-6082264-8160758?s=books&v=glance&n=283155)? I think he’d definetely qualify. And if we’re talking Discworld peoples, I am surprised no one mentioned Susan Sto Helit or Lao-Tze. ---

How about a [Bolo](http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bolo_%28self-aware_tank%29) ? Relentless, courageous, mentally stable; designed as the perfect warrior. Plus, with plenty of megaton-per-second firepower to fall back on if the bad guy shows up wearing yellow. ---
