> Big plasma TVs. I really really don’t get this lust people have for getting the biggest TV in the shop - why do you want a massive black screen taking up half your living room? When I had to buy a TV recently for the first time in years, I was shocked that the smallest I could get was 26", which still seem huge to me. And don’t even get me started on HD…

In the weeks before Christmas, one is deluged with ads for the latest electronic gizmo, like they’re trying to brainwash the public into thinking, YES, my life will not be complete unless I run out to Best Buy and buy a gigantic TV for my crappy little starter house. (Or a Smart Phone, or any new all singing all dancing piece of crap). What did I want for Christmas? Several big bags of dog and cat food to deliver to My Little Friends at the SPCA.

You can call your cell phone without a land line.

I use Skype for that.🆒

I’ve thought about switching to a prepaid cell phone plan and using Skype for most of my calls. I probably use less than 100 minutes a month outside my house.

Land line (I have a mobile phone)
Smart phone (I like it to fit in my pocket)
iPod (regular MP3 players work better)
“Big” screen TV (I have a projector with a 93" screen for movies and certain events)
