Dallas, TX Doper checking in - 101 degrees here today.

I would whine, but a) I’ve lived here all my life, and so I’ve chosen to spend my summers in Hell; and b) Those Arizona temps are wicked!!

If I had my druthers, I’d be put in a coma until late October.

Eh…I can deal with cold better than with heat\*. Heat inhibits activity, so if you have work to do, especially outside, and it’s blazing, you’re screwed. I’d rather shovel snow in February than pull weeds in August, because the more you move around, the warmer you get. And there are such things as thermals. But if it’s so hot that you’re miserable even in a bikini, or worse, you can’t expose your skin because you’ll get burned, you’re limited to sitting still and swigging liquid. Which is not **always** a good thing.

\*Unless we’re talking about really extreme, bitter cold, the kind where you spit and it freezes in mid-air. But I’ve rarely been in temperatures that low.

I’m lucky. It only reached 38C here today in the shade. I like it when it gets that cool. I’ve seen 50C here before.

I think the sign that my Grandfather had hanging in his workshop says it best, “Qwitchyerdamnbellyachin’!”

It wasn’t just the big jets - it was all of them. The problem was, IIRC, that the manuals that told them how to set the controls for takeoff only went up to 120.

Of course, when talking about weather in AZ, you need to include the location. We went up to Flagstaff last week and enjoyed highs of about 75 degrees (24 C). 7000 feet is awfully nice in the summer.
