Mercurochrome.
Mother used to paint us up as “Indians” in “War Paint”.
Which does not even come close to explaining why it was the first thing which popped into mind…
My mind was once a beautiful thing - now it needs not only new paint, but new…

Luster Creme shampoo in a jar.
As a guitar guy I think of the first generation Fender Stratocasters. First year 1954. Personally, I prefer the late sixties models but many Strat fans consider the late 50s models to be the ultimate.
Also as a car guy the late fifties Chevy Bel Airs.
I forgot to give my age. 56 (born 1957).
As a knife collector I think of the pre-ban Italian switchblades, particularly Latamas, Coricamas and Edwin Jays.
As a motorcycle guy I think of the Harley-Davidson Sportster, first year 1957.

The very first item that comes to mind is a TV set.

My initial thought was Tang, but upon Googling it, apparently it was introduced in 1959, so it’s not much of a 50s product.
My runners-up would be Brylcreem, Lucky Strikes and convertibles.

I am a magistrate. Almost 50, born and raised in NE Ohio.

The 1957 T-bird.
Also coon-skin caps, transistor radios, Jello molds, stereo LPs and traditional roller skates.

Hula hoops. Then yo-yos.
I actually thought of cars with distinctive body designs like tail fins, but that’s not really a product as much as a changing style of an existing product.
Hula hoops were invented in 1958 so they barely got into the fifties. Yo yos were around in ancient Greece.
I would say “television”. The '50s is when they started appearing in ordinary homes, and the country began to see itself reflected in the light of the tube.
