What otherwise normal fictional human has the highest ability scores? [spoilers]

My Money is on Harrison Bergeron. He was so genetically superior that the government was unable to bring him down to the lowest common denominator in any category.

He was not normal tho, he could fly.

Could he? I apparently have totally forgotten that part of the story, my mistake. I therefore change my answer to Hagbard Celine. Bond, Batman, Doc Savage, twenty minutes on that submarine and they’d be on Celine’s crew.

One “normal” human that had utterly top-drawer Constitution was Will Eisner’s Spirit.

My Og! How that man could take a beat, & stay upright.

In Flashman And The Tiger an elderly Flashman let Holmes apprehend Colonel Moran {whom he’d much earlier abandoned to a life of white slavery in Dahomey, and who hence bore Flashy a mortal grudge} and thus doom him to the gallows, in order to save himself the inconvenience of backshooting Moran. He then managed to secure his escape by duping the great detective about his identity: Holmes was no match for the cunning of Flashman even in his 70’s.

Neena (sp?) from The Fifth Element, and Paul Mu’adib (sp?) from Dune are contenders as both were defined as perfect Human Beings.

What? No Hannibal Lecter, M.D.?

-Size for size, strong as an ant

-Incredibly, incredibly intelligent, capable of sketching entire cities from memory and strong hundreds of texts in his memory palace

-Wise/Insightful - well, debatable, but he has acute understanding of how people work

-Charismatic (said to “make a girl’s fur ‘crackle’, you know”)

-Capable of resisting large doses of hypnotic drugs; has a very high pain threshold

-Good hands (not like that, you sick, sick person)

Miles Naismith Vorkosigan

I wouldn’t bet against him in any challenge he participated in.

Human, yes. Normal…?

I’d vote for Lady Sally or Mary before Mike, to tell the truth.

What about Lupin the III?

Strong enough to pick up women bodily,
Dextrous enough to pick the cleverest of locks and handcuffs,
Tough enough to be in explosions and only come away with minor scratches,
Smart enough to figure out the weirdest of mysteries,
Wise enough to know how people tick,
Charismatic enough to have an interantional following of minions (and one very hot Fujiko Mine)

Derek Flint: Agent of Z.O.W.I.E.

Martial arts master; hypnotist; ladies man; pilot; gourmet; ballet instructor; gadgeteer; weapons experrt; medic, and of course, spy.

I don’t know about sheer physical strength, though. He looked pretty thin.

And there’s always Angus MacGyver. ('Nuff said.)

And Fool enough to be duped by the aforementioned Fujiko, and any other pretty face that happens by, on a regular basis.

Although, in Fujiko’s case, he has a good excuse. Pardon me, two good excuses.

re: James Tiberius Kirk

Good point. I also forgot to mention his Grin of Overwhelming Wryness.

I’m going to have to go with Ace Rimmer - he’s got it all. Honourable mention goes to Wesley (aka The Man in Black) - I’m surprised he hasn’t been mentioned yet.

Captain America doesn’t have overt superpowers, but would definitely be a contender. Edges Batman in the Physical Stats, but is probably himself edged by Batman in Intelligence and Wisdom.

Don’t forget the Toupee of Overacting!

Say, that gives me a couple of ideas for some Cafe Society threads…

I dont think Harrison could actually fly. The story says that they lept closer and closer to the 30 foot ceiling:
“And then, neutralizing gravity with love and pure will, they remained suspended in air inches below the ceiling, and they kissed each other for a long, long time.”

I take that as literary license and not the actual ability to fly.

So stand firm in your convictions parthenokinesis because I was going to nominate Harrison before you beat me to it you fast nominating backstabber.

Only in the anime. In the manga, he’s a lot more, er, successful.

And he actually gets to score with her (and pretty much every other skirt coughs) in the original Monkey Punch series.

I know, I’ve got a shelf in my Barrister’s bookcase stuffed with them.

But I shouldn’t carp. I was conned by her myself. :o
