She needs to search the luggage too. Don’t forget to look for the false suitcase bottom.

I think a body cavity search is in order. Clearly he’s a big enough asshole.

It’s a chihuahua, not a shihtzu.

Some lessons you have to learn for yourself. Your natal family is your template of normal-ness, and if you were raised by decent, caring, \*rational \*people who always did their best, it _IS_ hard to understand and believe (on a gut level) some of the stories that get posted here.

He could bring the dog to my place, but last time someone brought their dog by, my 8 pound cat opened a 1.5" gash on the side of a 15 pound dog and had it running for it’s life. 😃

> The fact that she would rather have her dad be stranded 1,000 miles from home with no place to stay, in freezing weather, rather than let a little dog stay overnight in her garage, also speaks volumes.

No, she would rather that her father not bring the dog. He is the one who would be choosing to strand himself. He is responsible for his own choices, and he has had a great deal of very clear information about what those choices are.

I have a 21# Maine Coon boy, and it takes a mighty big and mean dog to scare _him_. He’s sent fear in the heart of much larger dogs, so I could well beleive your smallish 8# moggie doing it to such a small dog. Heck, my cat could just eat the damn
chihuahua and the problem would be solved, but I’d be afraid of him getting sick.😛

My 12 pound, normal-sized, normal temperament girl kitty appeared to be going to take care of a husky-sized dog last summer when I had her outside with me. The dog was in her territory, and she was going to go do what she had to do. I didn’t _let_ her go take on a big dog, but there was no fear on her part.

There are, to my mind, few things in life so terrifying as an enraged cat, all fangs and claws and puffed-out fur and mad eyes and shrieking yowl and lightning reflexes and utter, unslakable drive to KILL.

Yep. The grumpy barn cat we’ve adopted rips the dogs we babysit a new one in the first five minutes he meets them (or once a visit, for slow learners) and it’s never a problem again. Ten pounds of angry muscular once-feral cat with another ten pounds of soft-living fat makes for trouble for canine visitors.

Yeah, my 8 pound cat Ichabod once tried to eat a pair of Springer Spaniels. It wasn’t pretty.

I hate to break this to you, but 60 people who are 60 something don’t have one foot in the grave. My dad is 93, as is my father-in-law. Great that no dog showed up, though.

60 somethings who don’t take good care of themselves physically or emotionally, are overweight, whose dietary intake is beyond horrible, and has miscellaneous health issues has one foot closer to the grave than the 60 year old is takes care of himself physically, get’s exercise, eats well, has healthy outlets for stress, has supportive relationships and actually LIKES life and living.

But, that’s another thread in and of itself.

It’s true that your life expectancy creeps up as you get older…

Some landlords will make an exception. I have also seen families evicted over having a pet, too. No means no - why do people have a problem with that concept?
