# What pizza topping is weirdest?

As far as I’m concerned nothing is wrong with anchovies. They’re a traditional topping in some parts of Italy according to this thread: [What are considered acceptable pizza toppings in Italy? - #4 by Acsenray](https://boards.straightdope.com/t/what-are-considered-acceptable-pizza-toppings-in-italy/931019/4)

Someone on this board once described anchovies as something like “salty little bombs of umami goodness”. That’s more articulate than my description which is just “yum yum.”
