I listen mainly while driving, which has reduced greatly since I started working from home, but here are my mainstays: True crime type - Casefile - Unsolved Murders - Already Gone Other - Fairy Tales for Unwanted Children - The Folklore Podcast ---

I listen while driving back and forth to see my granddaughter, who lives ~3 hours away, so plenty of time to listen. These are the limited edition (e.g. distinct stories the have a beginning and end) podcasts that I’ve listened to and would recommend. Most are true crime: Bear Brook Dirty John Dr. Death Serial S-Town Gangster Capitalism (about the college admissions scandal) Cold The Shrink Next Door To Live and Die in LA Confronting OJ Simpson by Kim Goldman These are ongoing subscriptions that I listen to if the topic intrigues me: Noble Blood RadioLab History Unplugged Armchair Expert Getting Curious Rick Steves Travel Talk These are queued up for my next road trip: Being There Memory Palace American History Tellers ---

When i’m in the mood i listen to podcasts while running. Mostly i listen to True Crime Stuff. True Crime that i liked: Serial (season 1 only, quit about half way through season 2) S-Town Someone Knows Something (seasons 1-5) Dr. Death Dirty John Uncover: Escaping Nxivm Cold (about the disappearance of Susan Powell) True Crime Bullsh\*\*: the story of Israel Keyes Non true crime that i like: Dan Carlin’s Hardcore History - Mostly i LOVED the Kings of Kings series about the Persian Empire. The other topics/episodes i haven’t been able to get into as much. Radiolab Moth Radio Hour This American Life I used to love the Nerdist/ID10T with Chris Hardwick (long form celebrity interviews), though i haven’t listened to it since the accusations against him were made. ---

(shameless plug) Ear Hustle Monday Morning Podcast Beautiful Anonymous Dumb People Town Snap Judgment Terrible, Thanks For Asking The Drunk Mormon Podcast The How-To Heretic The Joe Rogan Experience (if a topic catches my interest) The Pitch The Side Hustle Show Zealot There are many more but those are on my current list. Every so often I’ll decide I want to listen to more business podcasts or stories or humor or whatever and I’ll switch over to other podcasts. Except Shunned, of course, that’s the best. ---

I just got into podcasts when I finally got a car with bluetooth. Right now I have only listened to the limited edition (mostly true crime) ones: Dr. Death Dirty John The Shrink Next Door Escaping NXIVM The Dropout Any others like these would be helpful-although I don’t like a lot of violence. ---

A really old one, but…if you ever decide to re-visit Breaking Bad, check out the Insider Podcast. What stuck me is how such a dark show ended up with such an upbeat podcast. Besides the behind-the-scenes stuff, there’s a lot of laughter and genuine admiration for everyone who worked on the show. The same holds true for the Better Call Saul Insider podcast. ---

Omnibus! My favorite and a don’t miss podcast. Ken Jennings & John Roderick are interesting, funny and erudite; and though they may hit a few alleys and byways before getting to their selected topic, the trip is always worth the wandering. Eclectic and intelligent; highly recommended! Also check out their Facebook page. Of the below, those closer to the top I listen to regularly, those at the bottom are more occasional, when I feel inclined. Fwiw, I’m a skeptical septuagenarian female. My contribution: Casefile, but it’s been mentioned already. This thread is frustrating to me. I see potentially a lot of good podcasts to listen to, but with just the titles I’m not sure. So, thanks to those of you who added a little summary. Also, I’d gladly stay away from anything political (left or right). Also, on a somewhat related note… I’m an Android user; The Podcast Addict app is a HUGE battery suck. I need to find another app. Anyone care to make a suggestion of a good Android Podcast App? ---
