But do you have mudflaps with the sillouttes of naked ladies? Cause in real life I’m HOT for a guy with that level of class and fine taste. Particularly if the car in question is a Trans-camero. Every time I see a car like that I think “woo-hoo – he’s easy.”

Ok. Now, you’ve said that you don’t flirt, because your wife will break your knees. So, even though I have been crushing on you, I can’t really say it.

Then you come out and say you’re involved in something so unbelievably cool I can’t bear it! WHY ARE YOU TAKEN???

Ok, calm now.

Seriously, I’m teasing but that really is cool.

A few years ago I would’ve said I’m a lot more outspoken online than I am IRL, but after five years of bartending, you kind of get over that. For better or worse.

If anybody here were to meet me IRL, they’d find pretty much the same damn person. Like me or not. 😃

In addition to being a tall Southern Baptist, in real life I don’t take every single opportunity to get into long arguments with people. I keep them short or interject for just long enough to make it obvious I disagree. I guess my thinking is that most Dopers are intelligent enough to be worth arguing with, whereas in real life I know that’s not the case.

Well, I live by a harbor and I’m a wolf during the full moon, so I guess that’s mostly true.

Other than that, I’m a lot crankier in real life than I am here.

I’m rather the opposite to Marley, although I am quite tall (and dark and handsome). In real life, I’ve been known to argue with people, while here I generally bow out having made my point. I do, though, I must admit, _come back_ to certain topics on a pretty regular basis, e.g. Michael Moore (fu\*\*ing hypocrite), Hillary (total scumbag), homosexuals (to show that I treat them like anyone else, though I have a smeaking feeling that some still want to be treated differently), and evolution (because I remain to be convinced that all living things descend from a blog, or, according to some theories, two blobs).

I am a lot nicer online than in real life. In real life I’m sarcastic all the time. Online I tend to avoid it, because people can’t pick up my tone.

In real life I make people uncomfortable by not looking at them when they talk to me and not recognising their faces. Online I have less trouble - I have little to no problem remembering names.

I have a “smeaking” feeling that not all homosexuals are alike and that they are in fact fully formed sentient creatures and as such their desires and expectations of treatment are as diverse as those of any equal number of straight people (though I think most homosexuals are alike in not having a desire to see penetrating dolphin photos).
Probably my single-biggest difference twixt here and the Waking is that here my “tongue” is looser online than IRL. I think that’s probably the greatest appeal of online discussion- you can abridge the ingrained Southern manners (“why no, I can’t say I do agree that the Earth is 6,000 years old, John Hagee is a great man and gays caused the fall of Rome… we must beg to differ… allow me to show you the azaleas while I get you some more quiche and replace this cast-iron skillet to have bent in half during our ‘discussion’…isn’t it humid this week?”). That and the fact there’s a record.

But outside the SCA, he’s meek and pretty damn cool to hang out with. What we’ve discovered is that he takes on his persona in the SCA and his total personality warps around it. Really weird to get used to to Jekyll and Hyde he pulls. \<snip\>

This comment suggests that you don’t treat them like anyone else; it suggests that you’ve singled “them” out as a group to be treated a specific way. If you didn’t think of them as different from others, you wouldn’t comment on how you “treat them like anyone else.”

I am as confrontational here as I am in real life. Life is short, and I don’t like wasting pieces of it searching for tiny daily truths. Life would be so much easier if people would just give it.

I have met several people IRL, and they were all as they said they were.
