# What power did the One Ring grant?

I’m pretty sure that the power that the One Ring granted was that it could boil an egg if you put it inside it and left it there for a few seconds. Or maybe it could sublimate brass, I’m not sure.

Tolkien never delved into the biology or workings of fire breathing dragons. We know they were bred by Morgoth’s power and the early ones were flightless. We know eventually he bred up one true monster of unbelievable size. We have reference that dragon fire could destroy dwarven rings.
