You can’t really go wrong with P3: FES or P4. The earlier games feel a little dated to me. (Digital Devil Saga is a slog. =/ ) Raidou Kuzunoha vs King Abaddon is getting decent reviews, but I haven’t tried it yet. Still, how can you go wrong with a name like that?
Since this thread has new life I need to ask about a game I watched a roommate play once, and forgot the title of and will try to describe…
It’s a mech game (think Robotech like), and I don’t totally remember the story, but I know the gameplay was almost a strategy type game. The fighting grid was layed out in squares and depending on how you formatted your mech you could only move certain squares left right or forward. The mech’s were totally customizable with their weapons and such, and when customizing you had to figure firepower vs. weight and things like that.
While fighting you could do damage to parts of the other mech, so if you had a enough damage to their left arm, it would fall off, and they would be without it for the rest of the fight. Finally the only other thing I remember is that whenever you killed a mech you could pick up its spare parts and either equip it or sell it.
Ok that’s my story…anyone think they know what I mean from my crappy crappy description?
Sounds a -lot- like Front Mission 4 to me.
Almost definitely; I’m unaware of anything else on the PS2 just like that (though there are quite a few PC games of both professional and amateur design that borrow heavily from Battletech).
I’ve played Persona 3: FES and am playing P4 now. I love them, by the way.
I was just wondering if you had played any other from the main series.
Thanks everyone!
Actually though, going back in my memory banks, it was actually a PS1 game that he had, and after youtubing it he had “Front Mission 2”
But I never would have gotten Front Mission without you guys…so thanks!!
Start a thread to share your thoughts on Summoner. I have considered playing it as well and would like to hear your thoughts.
I’ll be happy to, though to give you fair warning if it doesn’t show up in my box today then it might be next weekend before I get around to it. I only have a couple of free hours on weekdays so I typically don’t play console games then since I can’t afford to have it take half an hour or more between stopping points.
