Question for the significant fraction of people who think oral sex without male orgasm does not count as a blowjob: If a politician got caught in the middle of one, before coming, would you accept his claim that he didn’t get a blowjob? Or, if he clearly chose to pull out, and made such a claim, would you accept it? ---

A quick lick is not a BJ. A orgasm is not necessarily required for me to call it a blowjob, but it wouldn’t be a “full or proper” bj, unless you are a women. However, I would most likely call it “sucky-fucky” (which is not bad either). ---

I voted number one, but that’s not exactly right. There has to be some actual time spent on it. There is a minimum amount of attention needed, though. If she just licked it once, that wouldn’t count, for instance. But, after a few minutes or so–it counts. (Well, if it didn’t go in the mouth at least part of the time, I could understand people not counting it.) Also, a lot of people I know specifically stop right before ejaculation not to get it in their mouth. Surely everyone would consider that a blowjob. BTW, I’ve heard it called a BJ when done to a girl, so I could understand someone getting confused on the genders. ---

I can be on board with that – that any mouth-to-rod contact is oral sex, but that it may take some more action to call it a “blow job”. But no need to “finish the job”, either. ---

Technically, when it’s done to a guy it’s a suckjob, not a blowjob. Blowing my cock does nothing for me and is actually kind of a silly thought. Sucking it, however, produces results. ---

Female, and I have to say that to me a blowjob is _an event with the intent to cause orgasm_. In other words, I’m not trying to stimulate you for another event like intercourse- I’m trying to get you to cum. I don’t think an orgasm has to be achieved for it to be a blowjob - as has been stated, some guys just don’t tend to cum from that alone. I know one guy I dated loved blowjobs - but just couldn’t mentally allow himself to complete that way. But I agree - a few licks does not a blowjob make. ---

Female, and I agree that some actual time has to be spent on it. If it’s less than a minute, that doesn’t really count for much (ok, so if you want to call that a blow job, it’s a terrible one, unless you were successful, in which case, props to you). But, if I spend a good 10-15+ minutes ‘working’ on you, it’s a blowjob whether release is achieved or not. ---

I was afflicted with that hang-up for a long time. My college GF didn’t like it in her mouth, so for those 3 years I managed to control it to the point that after we broke up and I began dating other women, I couldn’t do it in her mouth even if I (and she) wanted. I agree with the lot of ya that said a quickie-licky doesnt count. I actually refer to them as a ‘lick and a promise’. A job only counts if it is completed and that’s why it’s called a job? Hell with that! What about the effort made? And what’s this no hands business? Voted “female/any amount,” even though like everyone else I feel that’s an inaccurate description and that substantial time/effort are required. In heterosexual, male-oriented porn, bjs often lead to vaginal intercourse (in a variety of positions), often culminating in a final bout of oral with an external “money shot,” in which the man frequently takes charge of his orgasm. (I don’t even want to deal with depictions of anal sex and whatever may follow that.) It’d be absurd to argue that he didn’t receive a blow job at the end or even at the beginning (if that initial bj was of a significant duration and intensity), yet in such a filmed sequence, for all the sucking and fucking involved, the man is depicted as climaxing only once (although this could be an illusory product of editing). So how do you do the accounting on such a chain of events?
