Errrrr . . . no. Why on earth would you think it was?
You seem to imply that Jesus was not Jewish, and therefore couldn’t have been a Pharisee. Or did I misunderstand you?
Oh! No, not at all.
Mambo offered that the Christ might have been born into the Pharisee sect, and wondered if that made any difference to the discussion.
Since the Pharisees were Jews, whether or not Jesus or Mary were Pharisees (or Zealots, or Sadducees, or whatever) is irrelevant to whether or not they were Jews.
Sorry for not being more explicit.

OK, sorry I jumped to conclusions.

**Mary is a special case because as the mother of God she was assumed directly into heaven, presumably on the special orders of her son, I guess. **
Sort of like Richard M. Daley becoming mayor because of Richard J. Daley. The Virgin Mary had clout! 8*D
Do you suppose that the Old Testament (BC) people were “grandfathered” into heaven? Sort of like Mexicans who have lived in the US for 50 years and then we make them citizens. Seems fair.
But, what about the worshippers of Baal, or whatever god was before Judaism??? Straight to hell? or what??? And even Christians who died before John the Baptist practiced his baptism - straight to hell???
There may be some really good people in hell.
Hey, Gazoo, don’t forget all the people in the last 2001 years who had the bad luck to be born into some relgion other then Christianity. Some never heard that Christianity existed. Others had heard of it, but knew little or nothing about it. Others had varying degress of familiarity with it, but saw no reason to leave the religion in which they’d been brought up. Few people ever do. If the Christians are right, all of these people are in hell, no matter what sort of lives they lived. I think that’s just as unfair as sending to hell the people who lived and died before Christ.
