Considering how awful the original was (hell, **my** first novel was better than Saint’s, and mine wouldn’t even make the top ten thousand first novels), I can’t imagine how Chase could have made it worse. ---

I’d love to see a definitive version of _Lord of the Flies_. The '63 version stayed close to the novel, but looked like crap (filming in black & white didn’t help) and had really bad acting. The '90 remake had wonderful cinematography, but they screwed with the story too much. Plus, really bad acting. Only problem is the story’s a bit outdated, and convincing any Hollywood studio to do a thoroughly British film is pure wishful thinking. :rolleyes: ---
