# What reputable US TV news channels can you see live on the internet without cable?

I am not a huge fan of US news channels, but when something massive is happening in the world right now, I do like to watch actual live TV news, rather than read news websites or listening to radio. But as I’ve long ago given up cable TV (or TV of any kind), I’m generally out of luck, all the news websites (CNN, ABC, MSNBC, etc) ask you for a cable-subscriber login before you can watch their live stream.

Are there any other options I am missing? Al Jazeera English is the only US news channel that I can find:

I’d say none. Seriously. If you want “reliable” news, you’re better off watching or listening to the BBC.

I say this as someone who has actually worked for two major US networks. I don’t believe a word they say.

[PBS Newshour](http://www.pbs.org/newshour/) allows free web access (at least it does for me).

Most channels will allow you to stream some segments or shows, but I was specifically talking about live news.
