In my other thread I pointed out that most men prefer BBQ joints and while some women will go there, it doesnt tend to be there thing because of the food and atmosphere. Some people mentioned though that coffee and tea houses have more women. Its where women come in large groups but rarely men and when men do come its usually with a woman. Plus women seem to like quieter places with different menu options (especially lots of salads) and no tv screens. [HERE](https://slate.com/human-interest/2015/11/what-women-want-according-to-female-friendly-restaurants.html) is an article about what makes a restaurant more “female friendly” Ex. small portions and low calorie. Also the article mentions people opening up “female friendly” steak houses and sports bars. So I’d like to ask you all, is there a place where you see more women go to? ---

I live in an urban area with LOTS of dining options, so by your description, this is the kind of place that immediately comes to mind: [Sweet Butter](https://www.sweetbutterkitchen.com/gallery) I see that they just recently expanded their schedule to serve dinner (and they do have BBQ Ribs on the menu) but at it’s heart it’s a brunch/pastry/salad/omelette place. ---

Did you notice that that’s a Slate article and the tongue is very firmly in the cheek? Take a look at the last line: SHe had a catwalk; STK has ads that spotlight the legs and lips of the women who are supposedly the restaurant’s target customers. If anything stirs up a woman’s appetite for a piece of meat, it’s seeing another woman being treated like one. ---

The idea that that article describes "what makes a restaurant more ‘female friendly’ " requires quite a rarefied reading of it. In any case, on the topic of the OP, my consistent experience with women over the years has been that their favorite restaurant is called I Don’t Know, Where Do You Want To Go? ---

I confess that the two women I spent the most time with were _really_ indecisive/accomodating (or played really indecisive/accomodating people on TV). If the subject wasn’t something they had a strong opinion about it was like pulling teeth getting them to say what they preferred - they druther defer to me in those cases. ---

As a woman, I believe I speak for all women. My preference is a restaurant where the servers don’t get too chummy, the food is good, and the atmosphere is pleasant. Bonus points if it’s not too expensive. And the hand soap in the restroom has to smell nice. I have spoken! ---

That’s a pretty big demographic group of 4 billion. There are some preferences here and there to work with but you won’t find general answers on what they all like. But back to your question. Any place that allows pie eating contests. ---

Women like lots of vegetables, low calorie, but some good deserts. It was also interesting how someone had make a steak and bbq joint to be female friendly. ---
