If you look closely, you can almost see when I started to abandon physical media. I also have all the new Doctor Who’s, but none prior to Christopher Eccleston. A guy I work with has all the surviving episodes prior to that. His wife gave them to him on a hard drive that looks like a Tardis. ---

Simpsons, every season released so far except that lousy no extras Season 20 cheapo they tried to pull. I’ll wait for the version with commentary, thanks. Also have the movie. Buffy the Vampire Slayer Angel Firefly, also have Serenity on Bluray. Futurama, the complete original Fox run, but none of the post-revival stuff. I guess, technically, I could count Walking Dead since I got season 1 on Bluray and as far as I know season 2 isn’t out yet. ---

I was debating whether it would be threadshitting to say I don’t have any (as I think it’s too expensive), but then I realized I do have one: The Hitchhiker’s Guide to the Galaxy TV show from the BBC. There we six episodes, and all fit on one disk. It cost no more than a DVD movie. ---

I have all ten seasons of _Friends_ on DVD. This is out of character for me. Here’s how it happened: I was at Target one day back when the show was, I think, in season nine on the air; I believe the first four or five seasons had been released on DVD. I saw that they had season one on sale and realized with surprise that I’d never seen the pilot episode, so I bought it and put it on the shelf at home. A couple of months went by, and then one day I came down with the flu and was stuck at home for several days. I decided to watch the pilot episode, and then out of a combination of inertia and nostalgia, I kept on going through the episodes, marveling at how young the cast looked. It should have occurred to me that I would inevitably get to the season-ending cliff-hanger, and that I would then realize that season two was just waiting for me at the store… By the time I’d gone back yet again to buy season three, I quit kidding myself and admitted I’d be buying them all. Ironically, I’d stopped watching the new shows sometime in season seven, but watching the old ones got me interested in the show again and I started watching again as the final season started. ---

I would prefer to have them digital to save the space but don’t want to end up having multiple netflix like services to get all the shows I might want to watch. I’m not sure if I’m going to be getting more, again due to space. I used to get a new set or DVD a month and I think it’s been six months since I bought one? I can’t even remember the last DVD I purchased! Not sure if that’s good or bad. It’s more that I want them digital now, again to save space. On a related note, I have to say that listing them out here makes me wonder about having some of them. I find it tough to sit down and watch shows at times, and it’s even more tough with things like 24, where the season is the story! That’s a lot of time needed to watch the full story again. The flip side of that is something like Friends, where each is stand alone, especially if you have seen them before, but wanting to see a particular story line or progression again and not knowing which ones to watch. \*still airing \*\*some digital ---

I’m in the same boat - I collected series for a while, then did the math, and realized a Netflix subscription gives me access to hundreds of other TV series, for much much cheaper. I should sell the ones I have already. ---

I’m pretty sure **Firefly** and **Monty Python’s Flying Circus** are the only live action series for which I have the whole run on DVD (though I don’t have **Serenity** so maybe **Firefly** isn’t actually complete). (I’d probably have several more if I couldn’t stream them online.) I also have a handful of anime series (which should be unsurprising given my screen name.) **Azumanga Daioh: The Animation** **Excel Saga** **Fullmetal Alchemist** (the original 2003 series; I’ve got plans to pick up **Brotherhood** when I find time to actually watch it) **Gurren Lagann** **Lucky Star** **Magical Girl Lyrical Nanoha** (all that’s available in the US, at least) **The Mythical Detective Loki Ragnarok** **S_cry_ed** **Tales of the Abyss** I feel like I’m forgetting something, but there’s my list for now.
