My wife’s PC was having some slow down issues so I went [here](http://www.blackviper.com/WinXP/servicecfg.htm) and basically went with the “gaming” setup. Our computers are on a LAN and I discovered today that I can’t see her computer in network neighborhood from hers or any other computer. So I went to make sure she hadn’t turned off the HD shares for some reason. They are not there anymore. I then discovered the option to turn sharing on is gone. So I figured I disabled some service that controls this. I can still use network neighborhood from her computer to move files around from her computer to the others, but I need to be able to access files on her computer from the other ones. I’m 90% sure its a service, but I’m willing to entertain other ideas.

The **Server** service governs file sharing. Change it from **Disabled** to **Automatic** and start it.
