I think you’re misremembering through the fog of memory (as I did). When I first heard this news, I went back and re-read… It’s OMFG awful from the first book, with Bink’s participation in the rape trial, Chameleon’s portrayal in general, and Trent who’s actually fairly awful. … maybe we’ll get another _Riverworld_ miniseries, instead.
