# What should be done with the remains of the 9/11 hijackers?

Interesting. But how can you tell the remains of the hijackers apart from the remains of the passengers? I thought the bodies were all but vaporized.
I wonder if the FBI would give the remains up even if someone did claim them. I bet there’d be some dispute over whether or not the person claiming the remains actually was a family member, or someone looking to use them as a symbol of martyrdom. Or both.

What would the reason for this be? To serve as an education to the public or as a kind of slap in the face to the hijackers? Or maybe both. I imagine the last thing they would want to be is a part of a American Pride campaign.

I was thinking put the remains in jars and put the jars in whatever 9/11 memorial they build when they rebuild the WTC.
But maybe that’s a little too morbid.

I hate to say it, but feeding the remains to swine was the first thing that popped into my mind when I read the OP.
It would appear there has been no attempt made to individually identify them, which is good. The hijackers have already proven to the world their total lack of humanity, we should not allow them to regain it.
The remains should not be released to the family. We can’t allow the remains to be paraded about like holy relics in those places of the world that might consider these subhumans to be heroes.
The remains should be uttlerly destroyed. There should not be a trace of these subhumans left upon this Earth.

I say bury or cremate them, whichever might be cheaper, more available, or whatever is done to “unidentifiable” remains in “normal” circumstances. They are, after all, just remains. If you believe in heaven or hell, or reincarnation, or whatever other thing that might happen after death, then believe me, they are already in the appropriate place. I don’t mean to offend anyones beliefs, but these are just bodies now, and should be disposed of the same way as any other.
It’s a different scale, but we don’t really question what to do with the bodies of other murderers or criminals whose families don’t claim them - we just dispose of them. To make a huge deal out of “disrespecting” them now, almost a year alter, gives them an even longer effect on us than they deserve.
Let them be gone, and lets continue with the healing and rebuilding.

Bury them upside down on the grounds of an abandoned insane asylum, preferably a haunted one. Try resting in peace THERE, whydoncha?
Or grind up the remains, shelack them into a sphere, and get Chyna and Sable to play tetherball with it until it crumbles.
Failing that, the pig thing sounds good. Besides, pigs are cute.

I agree the remains should stay in the United States, to avoid their becoming a symbol of martyrdom. Aside from that, they should be given a decent burial. America is a civilised nation. Here is a chance to remind your enemies how decent people act.
