What should be on our Must See / Must Do list for Disneyland next week?

Number Six,

The cool thing about California Screamin’ is that it is the only coaster I’ve been on that goes UP very fast! None of that chig-chig-chig-chig as you s-l-o-w-l-y go up to the apex.

Just zzzzzzzzzzzoooooooooooooooom!

(Jorel recounting money in nonsmoking jar. Still not enough for Disneyland)

You will not be impressed by California Screamin. It is perfect for your wife though – fast, really smooth, and long, without being too scary. My seven year old thought it was the highlight of her life. I liked the start - rather than ratcheting up a long hill, they launch you from a dead stop to about 60 mph along a flat stretch at ground level (0 to 60 in about 3 or 4 seconds) – at the end of the straight you hit the first incline, and launch upwards.

Spend more time in Disneyland than California Adventure. Sadly, the newer park just isn’t quite up to the standards of Disneyland. California Soarin’ is fun and the rapids are fun if it’s hot, but that’s about it on the must see list.

Go on “It’s a Small World”, listen to the song. Repeat. Repeat. Repeat.

Then go check in to a local mental institution for observation.

Seriously though one thing you need to do is build in rest periods during the trip. You can go to lunch over at the hotels or Downtown Disney and just relax or veg out for a while.

You will need it. You will feel better.

“Great Moments with Mr. Lincoln” is always a good place to catch a short nap also. Cool, dark, comfy, zzzzzzz…

You will have fun. But take the time to rest. Especially since you have so much time. You will enjoy it so much more.
