I’m American. By god, I deserve eggs. I did my part to vote in a sane person. I donated. I voted. I wore the t-shirt. Short of murder, I don’t know what else I could’ve done. I feel forgotten. Much like the Europeans did during the Hitler years. I’m not the bad guy. Several 1000 other Americans aren’t either. I won’t buy Danish eggs. Because bad people are twisting arms to get them imported. I find that the worst part of this. We proud, regular Americans have to be lumped in with them. Not fair. I deserve eggs. I’ll grow my own. ---

My Loco-Moco recipe: Bring miso and chopped green onions to a roiling boil. Break an egg into a ladle and gently lower it into the miso until the yolk is still soft Broil a hamburger patty with soy sauce in a dent made in the top Layer the patty, short-grain rice and the egg on a plate, and drench in sweet & sour pork gravy. I can’t eat this now without spending more than I’d wish, but I don’t begrudge @Northern_Piper and @Odesio for gloating over that. Besides depriving us of eggs, Trump had earlier killed off an out-of-proportion number of Americans during Covid. Deemed an “essential worker,” I caught it before a vaccine was available. Dosing myself into oblivion for ten days with diphenhydramine, I resurfaced with yellow skin and a multitude of sharp wrinkles under my eyes; which have turned into lardy bags that strangers will find off-putting. They won’t ask, but I’d tell them that that’s where Charon has clawed at my eyes for his fare, and finding nothing had tossed me back on shore with the living. ---

No ones gonna band together and help Americans. They’re too busy calling my kids “overstuffed” and calling me a “dumb cluck” I don’t deserve eggs _because_ I’m American. I deserve them because I’m worthy. I did nothing to incur disdain from everyone else in the world simply because I live in a country I love. Location is no reason to hate someone. It’s not my fault either. I’m worthy because I say I am. You’re free to judge for yourself. I never asked for free eggs from anyone. Of course I’ll pay for the eggs or grow my own. Not an issue. ---

I simply quit buying and eating eggs for now. I am sure the inflationary price leeches into all other food products but I am only buying what I absolutely need and have to bear the financial burden. ---

They could print CU Next Tuesday for all I care. I’m betting the Danish eggs would be destined for commercial needs like mcD’s and such and not so much for individual consumers Plenty of eggs at my local grocer. All kinds, I choose Nellie’s free range eggs. But the other half is on an egg salad sammuch kick so I bought Egglands best hardboiled eggs too.
