# What should I do in the evenings instead of TV?

Volunteer one or two nights a week - find a theater/museum/hospital/animal shelter/kid’s sports club that matches your interests and offer up some of your free time. Gets you out of the house and you meet people with similar interest.

Read.

Go out with friends.

Cook. I don’t mean just to get a meal on the table. I pour through cookbooks, pick out interesting recipes, and make 1-3 of them at one time, for fun. I also end up with a bunch of meals made up for me ahead of time. I tend to pick stuff that freezes well.

I listen to NPR while I cook.

Volunteer work.

Thanks all… Since my husband and I are about to try for a baby, it looks like I’ll be appreciating my last remaining days or gorging on TV and drinking with my friends.
