Check out Shout! House, a dueling piano bar downtown. Not open Monday night, but no cover on Tuesday night. It’s at 600 Hennepin Ave. S., in the same building as Hard Rock if you want to eat first. Haven’t been on a week night, but it’s an unforgettable experience on a Fri/Sat night.
Are you getting excited about going? What will you do without the dope? And which of all these suggestions did you finally accept? Have you ever been to Minneapolis? Have you ever been asked so many questions?
Anyone else feel all that turbulence in here?
MessyPaint
Are you getting excited about going? No, I am a little sad, Sunday is actually my little boys Birthday, I wish Common was any other week.
What will you do without the dope? I’ll have Hi-speed access in my Hotel.
And which of all these suggestions did you finally accept? The Mall of America & Hell’s Kitchen.
Have you ever been to Minneapolis? This is a First.
Have you ever been asked so many questions? Yes, far more in fact, I have an 8 year old daughter.
Jim
Hey, I like that purple font you gave me there. jk
Just make sure you give us updates while you’re walking through the mall to let us know how you’re liking it, or if you need any back up in Hell’s Kitchen, we’ll dope slap those biker bitches.
I would take a trip to St. Paul to see the most Enormous and Terrifying Cathedral in the World, the Cathedral of St. Paul (duh).
Of course, I’m a Big Scary Statue buff.
I’ve gotten my bearings and tonight I am heading for the MOA. Tomorrow I will try to get to Hell’s Kitchen. I would have gone this morning but the Internet service at the Hilton is not the most consistant and I couldn’t get to this thread in time.
Jim
So, what have you done? Have the recommendations met your expectations?
Hi, I just got home a few hours ago. I had some repairs to do and I am now jumping on the Dope waiting for my Wife & Kids to get home.
I did the Mall of America and the Aquarium. It is a nice mall and I was impressed by the Amusement Park. My Kids would have loved it. The Aquarium was a little underwhelming but I ended up going through 3 times. Twice to see it and once to get back to the gift shop to get presents for my kids. I took the Train and it was an enjoyable way to go.
I ate at Hell’s Kitchen Tuesday Morning and I really enjoyed the All American. Very Good.
I walked the Downtown Mall and it seemed very dead. Is it a slow time of year or does it only do Lunchtime business? I stumbled upon a statue of Mary Richards Tossing her Hat, I probably startled a few locals when I broke up laughing. Pretty cool but unexpected.
The Sky-ways took some getting use to, a lot of dead ends. I did figure out how to go from the Hotel to the Train Station.
Mostly I was at the COMMON conference.
I liked Minneapolis, it is a nice little City. I was afraid it was going to be like Milwaukee but it reminded me more of Vancouver. I wish I had more free time in the daytime to see more of the city. The countryside around the city looks beautiful.
I hope I can ask a few more questions.
I noticed the city was very white, not just European, but what I would take to be Northern European. Is this accurate or just a reflection of Downtown and the MOA?
When I arrived Sunday something big was happening at the Dome? Do they have concerts there? I know it wasn’t Football or Baseball related.
Jim (Sorry Milwaukeans, but when I was in your city in the 1985 it was not a nice or attractive place, hopefully it is much better now).
Swedes, Norweigns and Germans are the “original” Minnesota settlers. We also have huge Hmong and Somali populations. But yes, if you like blue eyed blondes, this is the state.
NCAA basketball was held in the dome last weekend.
Oh, I thought that would be the Target Center. I didn’t know the dome was used for Basketball.
I guess my observation was dead on. Might be a first.
