The neighbor’s cat. I’ll second the vote on Cocker Spaniels. These dogs are generally well behaved, like people, and very long lived. You can expect a cocker to live to its late teens, and 22 to 24 years is not unheard of. Second choice is the pound pup. And make it a terrier. They have such wonderful personalities. Well, he/she should be omnipotent, all knowing and all understanding. He/she should be fair, not too restrictive, but ever-so-slightly intimidating, well moreso assertive so as to earn the respect of followers rather than ruling via instilling fear. Oh and there’s got to be a bible or some kind of doctrine, I can’t stress that enough. ::sips coffee:: Hey that tasted funny. OK who put the dyslexia pills in my coffee. ---

A roommate of mine had a dog that would eat its own crap and then throw it up. Don’t get one of those. ---
