As he answered you in a later post, if he doesn’t “get it” by date one, he’s out of there anyway. Not all men, but there are a lot of “damned if you do, damned if you don’t” kinda men out there. ---

I’ve seen pictures; honestly, I don’t think it matters much what you wear, provided it isn’t Carhartt overalls, Personally, I like the low maintanence type, at least in first impressions. Maybe jeans and a tight jacket, or a simple skirt and blouse. Or whatever comes to hand. Given the temperature of the Calgary winter, I wouldn’t recommend the lesser protected fashion suggestions heretofore presented, strictly as a practical matter. Stranger ---

Alice - I seem to recall you told us all about a clothing item you received unexpectedly in the mail a year or so ago. At least I think it was you. If so, that’d be a hit. Although as Stranger says, if you live in Calgary it might be a bit drafty. Seriously, for a first date, dress in a way that is mainstream you, but gussied just up a notch. Sounds like a nice dress & pretty shoes. ---

I can’t believe some of what I’m reading in this thread. (Can’t imagine waiting that long for sex? Start over with someone else once he gets what he wants? :eek: ) I’m extra thankful for my husband today. My husband’s response to “What should I wear?” is always, “Jeans and something that shows cleavage.” But this sounds like an occasion to dress up a little. Personally, I’d go with the Audrey Hepburn dress. The wrap dress would be nice too. Sounds like this might be a New Year’s Eve date? If so, it might be fun to have a new dress. Make sure it’s something that makes you feel pretty. ---

He likes Hooters and so I usually end up going there with him when we eat. Anyway, yesterday their theme was “schoolgirl Thursday.” The odd thing that I noticed was that the girls were more attractive to me than usual. They are always cute of course, but yesterday they stood out. What I realised was, it was the skirts that were doing it for me. Not the schoolgirl thing, just the skirts. They showed no more and indeed perhaps (a little) less than the shorts that the girls usually wear, but the skirts were much more sexy. ---

Meh. It doesn’t matter what you wear on our first date. Just as long as you’re not wearing it at the end of the date. Seriously, though, are you starved to get all gussied up? If so, bust out a cute little dress. Otherwise, stick with what got ya there and att a little more zing wo it, like a nicer sweater, or more cleavage, or…whatever. Mmmm. Cleavage. ---

I recently got much-needed fashion advice from you (and **Antinor01** ), so far be it from me to dress you! 😉 I also recently started dating someone, though, and my “uniform” has pretty much been well-fitting jeans, black boots and/or flats, and a nice v-necked sweater (for a hint of the cleavage that, thankfully, I have). We’re now at the point where I can wear baggy jeans, sneakers, and a sweatshirt if we’re just going to shoot pool or something, but we’re going out for New Year’s Eve and I’ll be back to boots and a nice sweater. I’m a little unsure about the jeans part: it’ll depend on where we’re going. I think we might just be going to his favorite hangout for pool and beer, in which case I get to wear jeans. 🙂 ---
