> In the Clinton case, the system of justice was already perverted. These proceedings were clearly not seeking the cause of justice. Instead they were seeking the ends of politics. They were more of a show. While the style may still have been in somber tones, the solemnity did not extend to the heart of the matter.

> Your legal absolutism seems to me certainly tied up with the concept of blind Justice; neutral, impartial, eternal. No, when She’s around, it is solemn indeed, and few dare lie. But at the Clinton mock-up proceedings, Justice had already fled the scene.

…and two Wrongs still don’t make a Right.

> Yeah, but you wanted him to lose the election. It was bad enough that all this helped W win later.

This is the second or third time you’ve accused me of something that’s not accurate. While I hated Clinton and his entire corrupt Presidency with a passion, I did not necessarily want him to lose against Dole, despite him being a native Kansan and family friend, as Dole was too old, too out of touch, and had no clear message. I actually wanted Perot to win. In addition, I tend to follow the George Will policy of “gridlock is good” in that for me an ideal circumstance was a strong Republican Congress and a Strong Democratic President. Or vice-versa.

Furthermore, the Impeachment was _after_ the mid-term election, so Clinton was a lame duck President anyhow - he had little to lose by showing honour and dignity. And in further addition, _I didn’t vote for Bush_, either Senior nor Junior, any election.

I’m not sure this is productive any more.

Can we get back to Obama and the oil spill, please? I was also curious as to why **Una** described herself as an arch-conservative, but this is now wayyy too much of a hijack.
