Checking into the **Buffy** and **Angel** corner. After particularly traumatic episodes (particularly the end of the third series) I dream the whole scenes again, and still cry at them. I’ve honestly never been so absorbed by anything I’ve read or seen. It’s wonderful. At the grand age of 30 I’ve finally developed an obsession. I cannot believe we still have almost 4 months to the new season premiere in the UK. (But only 4 weeks until the release of the first half of series 4 on video). ---

Oh, how could I forget! NYPD Blue. I love that show. What a soap opera. My family hates it, and everyone goes away when it comes on. Not me! Kim Delaney is wonderful, as is the rest of the cast. I can’t wait to find out Rick Schroeder’s “secret”. Have to wait til January **again**. ---

There’s just so many. Like many others, I’ve seen virtually every episode of Law & Order several times. I also plan evening around the Buffy/Angel combo, as well as the West Wing/Law & Order duet. Simpsons re-runs are a must see, since I rarely get the oportunity to see the new ones. Someone mentioned it already, but Space: Above and Beyond was a great show, and I really wish they’d put it back on the air. When I was a kid, I’d risk being late for the school bus every morning, just to watch Robotech. Then there was the old Batman tv show. Is it so wrong to not do laundry because of the Buffy and Angel season premiers? ---

Mystery Science Theatre 3000. (Which is kind of odd as I’m Canadian, and the show was only readily available to Canadian TV viewers for only a few months.) One of my roommates now also likes the show, and we use these as inside jokes around the house now. “Release the caustic vapours!” “Jeeeeed!” “Saaaaay.” (Tom Servo voice) …and I’ve worn MST3K T-shirts to church. 🙂 ---

Buffy series 4 finished on Sky satellite at the end of May, and the same series starts tonight on BBC TV. Angel the same - the first series ended on Sky in May, and started a couple of weeks ago on terrestrial. The annoying thing about this is that although on Sky the two series are shown as they are meant to be - on the same night, Angel immediately following Buffy - on terrestrial they are being shown by different TV stations, on different nights, and starting in different weeks. The whole continuity is already shot to blazes. Buffy 5 and presumably Angel 2 are scheduled for Sky in January of next year - and they’ll then get onto terrestrial in about a year’s time. The only saving grace we do have is that series 1-3 Buffy is already on sale on video, and series 4 and Angel series 1 will be out by Christmas, so I can indulge my fix with proper copies of back episodes. I have now become disturbingly obsessive, and I acknowledge this is probably more information than you needed. Sorry about that. ---

AbFab. “Sweetie-sweetie-sweetie-sweetie! I’m chanting as we speak.” And of course, it came to an end just as it was getting going. I have the boxed set, The Last Shout and the outtake tape and I want MORE!!! More of Eddie’s selfishness, Patsy drinking and smoking non-stop, Bubble being loopy, Gran being loopy, and poor Saffy trying to clean up after everyone (but occasionally having a come-from-behind moment). And all of the unspoken commentary on women’s issues and the fashion industry, celebrity, men, family. And the occasional little flashes of Eddie’s and Patsy’s fear. And the miracle of Patsy herself - now really, how is that woman even still _alive_? “I _know_ it’s bloody selfish, darling, but it’s _me me me!_” ---

Put me down for being obsessed with Buffy the Vampire Slayer. One of my many favorite lines from the show: Principal Snyder: This place (Sunnydale High School) has quite a reputation. Suicide, missing persons, spontaneous cheerleader combustion. You can’t put up with that. or this exchange: Buffy: …so then Kathy’s like, ‘It’s share time.’ And I’m like, ‘Oh yeah? Share this!’ (She punches at the air.) Oz: So, either you hit her, or you did your wacky mime routine for her. Buffy: Well, I didn’t do either, actually. But she deserves it, don’t you think? Oz: Nobody deserves mime, Buffy. ---

OK, since people are talking about other teeny bopper shows, I guess I will have to be the first to say that I love Dawson’s Creek. Yes, I know it’s unrealistic, I know that teenagers don’t talk like that, but there is something about that show. It’s just so…good. I don’t know how to describe it. It fits my life perfectly too sometimes. My favorite line from the whole show is… “If we are truly meant to be, we will find our way back to each other.” …My boyfriend said those very words to me after I broke up with him the first time.
