Just the relative of Mound City people and my parents were from there. There is an “s” sound at the end of St. Louis, when referring to the city in Missouri. There are a lot of French names in the area and 99.9% of them don’t use French pronunciations. ---

**Law & Order: SVU**. I respect that it’s the least formulaic show of the franchise, but it’s also the least entertaining. I still like it better than **CSI** , though. ---

I don’t watch shows that I hate. Why would I? If there’s nothing on but I want something to listen to while I’m in the house, there’s plenty o’ DVDs on my shelves. I have had to watch shows I hate when I’m at other peoples places, but that’s beyond my control. But there’s usually something good to read laying around such places since they are my friends, after all. ---

Future Weapons: infused with jingoism and a subtle aroma of fascism. Also, the occasional, “this’ll mean we won’t need to kill as many people” strikes me as something of an afterthought. Man vs. Wild: much too theatric for my taste, and the dramatic camera work diminishes the authenticity of his predicament. Bear Grylls is an entertaining guy (“a team of Ninjas kidnapped the president, and after climbing Everest I was bad enough to rescue him”), but I liked better the way Les Stroud did things Shimmying up canyon walls and building your own raft are nice, but the survival show feels like a one-man version of Survivor. When the raft part comes up in just about every episode I vote myself off the island. Seinfeld: I can quote it, relate just about any situation to an episode, ID episodes as they start, but I truly cannot stand these characters. I’ve read comments here to the effect that if they were real they could never hope to even get a date. I disagree, I think they’d have all poisoned each other. ---

More votes for **Studio 60** and **House**. Studio 60 has always been a “waiting for it to get better” show and House is like…I dunno, the whole central theme of the show gets to be repetitive after a while. I “hate” **Lost** but not in the same sense as any other show. It drives me nuts but I love to hate watching it. I just started running in to **Deal or No Deal** at my parents’ house. All we do is sit there and talk about how much we hate that show while we watch it. It’s sickening. But there we are, watching it. ---

Another vote for **Smallville**. It used to be kinda good, in a cheesy hammed up way, then it was like a sandwich made of ham and tacks. Then they took the ham away. Hey, all you people sick of **Grey’s Anatomy**? Watch **Supernatural**! Same timeslot (of dooooooom), much more fun to watch. ---

Oooo I’m cringing as I admit that I’ve watched Housewives of Orange County a few times. I guess I like to think to myself as I watch that if I were that rich I wouldn’t dye my hair blonde, inflate my boobs to ridiculous proportion, be that vacuous, selfish, superficial, etc., etc. ---

A buddy and I used to watch _The Lawrence Welk Show_ just to annoy our parents, his one week, mine another, with how stupid and unhip and talent-free the people were. But after attaining “adulthood” I have dispensed with such antics. Whenever we’re visiting my MIL, who would watch Lawrence even if the house were on fire, we just go into another room and play cards or go on to bed. I seem to remember in college there were certain shows that would cause the “tube room” to fill up with guys who just wanted to shred the show. It was an event. Can’t remember the show but it seems like one of those ultra-hokey western or spy things. Don’t even want to remember it now. ---

Hey, remember when Davey got stuck on a freight car and the train was “saying” to him “God is everywhere, God is everywhere”? Why didn’t those Auschwitz trains say “God is everywhere”? ANYway, I hear ya on $40 a day. That bitch can practically orgasm over a wrap! And yet, I’ll watch. And WHY does she look so ill at ease in restaurants? But for me, it would have to be 9 years worth of first run Jeffersons. ---

As the weeks tick by, I have less and less interest in **Heroes**. And yet I still DVR every episode. After a few days I force myself to watch it, and I get all caught up even as I’m bemoaning the cardboard cutout characters and the simplistic plot. Except Hiro - he’s still wonderful. Come to think of it, he may be solely responsible for my continued viewing. ---

None actually. I very rarely turn the TV on. If Ms Hook didn’t want it there wouldn’t even be a TV in Casa Hook. I just wanted to mention this because it makes me feel so special/snooty . . . . or something. 😃 ---

I still watch _30 Minute Meals_ featuring the EVOO Howler Monkey, even though it’s crap and annoying, but it’s the only cooking show on when I get home at night! Except one Friday a few weeks back, when blessed relief in the form of Giada de Laurentis was airing. Sure, she overpronounces everything Italian – sphageeeteee, anyone? – but at least she’s not shrieking about getting “sammies” in “Saint Looey”. Also if I channel-surf past _Real Housewives_ or _Janis Dickenson_ I’m kind of stuck. I can resist rubbernecking at highway accidents, but those shows’re like accident-in-progress crack to me. _add:_ I can’t believe no one has 'fessed up with Battlestar Galactica. There’s 3-4 threads in CS right now complaining about how bad BSG has become, yet they’re all full of people who’re apparently still watching the show! ---

Nanny 911 and Wifeswap. OMG - I’ve seen a few episodes and I SWEAR I’ll never watch another, then I find myself staring at the screaming children running the house or the ignorant visiting wife make an ass of herself. I feel so dirty after the shows. ---

24 I hate the show so much. It seems (to me) to try to provide arguments for things that have no legitimate arguments. It is completely unbelievable (and not in the fun superhero way either) and I don’t legitimately like any main character - and if I do, I can rest assured that they will die. I haven’t missed a single minute since it came on the air.
