So I was watching _Saving Mr. Banks_, and realized I had to rewatch _Mary Poppins_. Which I did–and I loved the merry-go-round bit. Then I realized that in spite of the roller-coasters, and the Tilt-A-Whirl, and the Octopus, and other carnival rides I’ve experienced, I probably liked the merry-go-round best of all. Boring old me. I must have been easily amused; I also loved the Ferris wheel. But still. I would like to take a merry-go-round ride once more, before I say goodbye to this earth. So I added “a merry-go-round ride” to my bucket list. Yes, it is silly. But I am determined to take at least one (if not more) merry-go-round rides before … well, you know. What similarly silly things are on your bucket list? ---

I’d like to meet/talk to Paul McCartney and Wes Anderson, preferably smoke with them too. I’d like to use a leopard for hunting, I mean an actual leopard, in the role of chase hound like the larger Russian or Irish breeds. The leopard would have to be trained to catch and kill the game, like a large deer or antelope, and either wait there with it, or bring it back to me (not sure if the latter is even possible.) My dream celebrity crush is Rachael Ray. ---

I want to go see the Gorillas in the mist. But, I also don’t want to die or catch Malaria, not to mention I have about 10 phobias that would put that out of my reach. A girl can dream though. ---

I want to go up in a cherry picker. I don’t know why, I just do. I also want to drive the Oscar Meyer Wienermobile, but with my visual impairments, that’s impossible, so I’d be content with seeing the inside of a Wienermobile. I did get my photo taken with one (Which I posted on social media. You can imagine the replies.), but the wiener staff wouldn’t let anyone inside. ---

I’ve had “deep fry a turkey” on my bucket list for a while now. It seemed like the perfect mix of redneck and haute cuisine. So, I ordered a kit from Amazon, bought a beautiful 17 pound bird from the turkey farm, and made my dream a reality yesterday. It was very good. Anyone in the market for four gallons of gently used peanut oil? ---

Attend the Trigg County [country ham festival](http://hamfestival.com/). I’m not much of a ‘country music’ fan (although I like actual country music i.e. folk and bluegrass), but I do like a good ham. And this is reportedly the place to find the best hams to be had. ---

I want to play the lead role in “The Music Man”. I can already do the “Ya Got Trouble” song, but having once been a professional performer, I know there’s a big difference between doing it in the shower and on a stage in front of an audience. ---

I want to own a horse - that’s been a dream of mine since I was 8 years old (maybe younger). I want a kayak and to paddle around on a warm summer day when the lake is still and looks like glass. I want to go to Calabria, Italy and see where my grandparents lived. ---

I want to play a decently-sized Open Mic night where I play and sing some reasonably-demanding song, where my singing is strong enough to be the main draw, not my playing. Some classic song you have to be solid to pull off, like “You’ve Really Got a Hold on Me” by Smokey Robinson. ---

That’s not a silly thing and it doesn’t have to be a “bucket list” type thing, you’re most of the way there already with the guitar skill, just sing along with songs a lot until you’ve refined your voice…it’s totally doable!! ---

I want to get into a convertible (either a car or a ragtop Jeep) and drive across the Great Plains over back roads. I live in St. Louis, and I want to take a few days to drive to Mount Rushmore with the top down the whole way\*. I’d go across Northwest Missouri, catch part of Iowa, then all across Nebraska and into South Dakota. Or maybe go through Kansas instead of Iowa. I want to take pictures and write about the little towns I go through. When I’m bored at work, I often play out the trip on Google Maps. I don’t know why. I just want to do this. I might try to do it this summer. \*Yes, I know I’ll get sunburned. I’ll wear a hat and sunscreen. ---
