What sites do you already pay a monthly/yearly fee to? Any sites you pay for occasionally? I occasionally buy a month of FilePlanet. Right now, the only ones I pay for are Netflix (month-to-month) and [Launch.com](http://Launch.com) (prepaid for a year). I spend a lot of time at my computer, and I love listening to commercial-free radio. And of course I plan to subscribe here SDMB. ---

Only one subscription - to a now obsolete gallery of computer generated art. I spend a lot at amazon and recently ebay. ---

The only web subscription I have at the moment is for [www.insidecarolina.com](http://www.insidecarolina.com). I’m a North Carolina and ACC basketball junkie, so it’s something I enjoy. May sign up for SDMB, but jury’s still out on that one. Not sure I’m willing to pay hard earned money to watch crazy left-wingers argue amongst themselves. 😉 Jammer ---

Its the whole getting DVD’s thing i’m paying for moreso than the site. If you wanna count it then thats the only “site” i subscribe too. ---

I pay yearly for [livejournal.com](http://livejournal.com), and monthly for [ancestry.com](http://ancestry.com). I’ll probably drop [ancestry.com](http://ancestry.com) soon, because I’m just not getting all that much from it. I happily pay for a subscription when I know that I’m going to use the site–I’ve been paying for live journal for the past 3 years, and I’m still there and still happy to use it. I’ll be more than happy to pay for the SDMB. ---

I pay my yearly subscription to [Salon.com](http://Salon.com) cause I used to really, really like their articles. It’s gone downhill some, but I still find one or two things to read every day, so I keep paying. ---

I only have a monthly subscription to [Ancestry.com](http://Ancestry.com)’s U.S. census. I’m dropping that this month but I’ll pick it up again when they get either the 1900 or 1910 index in for awhile. ---

I used to have a Gold Membership at [funtrivia.com](http://funtrivia.com) (basic membership is free, Gold is 6-month subscription), but it expired about a month ago and I haven’t renewed because I haven’t had the time to spend much time there lately. I’ll probably renew it eventually, though. Other than that, I’m a regular member of several ezboards that I contribute to for Gold (ad-free) service when they come up for renewal. SDMB will be the first place where I’ll be paying for basic rather than enhanced service. Well, at least unless-and-until the possible premium plan mentioned in the ATMB announcement thread gets implemented. I’d prefer the one without kisses from Ed, though. 😉 ---

I don’t have any paid subscriptions on the internet. If it’s not free, I generally don’t bother. I occassionally (read–once) buy something off of ebay, and I spent a lot of (my parents’) money at indigo.ca this summer to get my school books. I’m considering subscribing here. Not sure yet if it’s worth it, I’m looking at the first paid year as my trial phase. After that, I can decide if it’s worth it, or if the money would be better spent on rent and school. ---

[Weather Underground](http://www.wunderground.com/). It’s $5 a year and I get to view the nifty animated radar images, which I find extremely useful for predicting the day’s storm patterns. In the Tampa Bay area (a.k.a. the lightning capital of the world) this can be very useful and important. But the bottom line for me is that I think their content is excellent and well worth the tiny amount I pay for it each year. Christ, I could probably come up with $5 a year picking up change off the street. The vast majority of web sites aren’t worth money to me. I love [Fark](http://www.fark.com/) and [Slashdot](http://slashdot.org) but they’re just not worth what they’re asking, money-wise, as far as I’m concerned. I don’t ever post on Fark, for example, and rarely post on Slashdot. Like others here, I was a Netflix subscriber from 2000 until just recently (I don’t watch enough movies to make it worthwhile) and I do tend to buy a lot of stuff online from sites like eBay, Barnes & Noble, and the many vendors linked from [Pricewatch](http://www.pricewatch.com/). The most expensive site I ever paid for was Yahoo! Personals, but it paid off - I met a few great women that way and even had the sex with a couple of 'em. 😉 Now that I’m single again I may return to Yahoo! Personals or maybe try my hand at [match.com](http://match.com). I don’t know what all this talk is about subscriptions at the SDMB - I’ve been away from the board for a while - but it looks like we’re talking about a small yearly fee, which I’m all for. I’ll gladly pay $15 a year or whatever for the SDMB. It’s easily the best message board on the net and I’ve been avoiding it lately because it’s just _way_ too slow since the last vBulletin upgrade. If a subscription means fewer users and/or faster hardware, I’m there. ---
